Today I learned: Trains in Germany are not allowed to have more than 20 hours of delay. After that the train operator has to request a new schedule.

And that’s why I can’t take any of these “AI” companies serious. Either you are for the abolition of copyright or you aren’t. But “copyright for me but not for you” is hypocrisy beyond comprehension.

I’ve gotten a lot more cautious when crossing streets at crosswalks or signaled crossings. There were way too many close calls recently where motor vehicle drivers didn’t slow down at all, making it hard to judge if they’re going to stop or just … continue.

The (in my opinion) best cinema (Savoy in Hamburg) screened “2001: A Space Odyssey” in 70mm. This was the first time I’ve seen the film in a movie theater and oh boi, that was certainly a trip. Some films are just meant to be experienced on the big screen.
This was also the quietest theater crowd ever. Even during the sometimes extensive stretches of silent scenes there was no sound coming from the crowd. Unbelievably respectful and that’s why I love the Savoy cinema.

I don’t think there’s anything more “standard” built into Intl. resolvedOptions only outputs the long timezone name.
You can get more structured data by using formatToParts:

The seats are comfy and that specific screen has a very nice seating arrangement which is more auditorium-like with a steep incline. Tall people won’t block the view.
So if you’re just there for the movie, it’s a totally fine cinema. If you care about the vibes, it’s a bit “sterile”.

Visited the newly opened Kinopolis Dolby Cinema in Hamburg yesterday which was fun for … reasons. The cinema itself is nice, but honestly it is a bit too clean and modern. No curtains, no red carpet. It looks like when Apple designed a movie theater. Lacking the comfortable atmosphere I normally associate with movie theaters.
But maybe I’m just spoiled by the Savoy theater in Hamburg which is the best. Not necessarily technologically, but the vibes are spot-on.

Yes, this is a wildlife park near Hamburg (Wildpark Schwarze Berge). But it also has a large dinosaur exhibition with life-sized models and a big playground for children.

This is such a relatable video by Hyce: When you find your niche bubble, you can be a nerd among other nerds and have fun.
But as a kid or teenager, being a nerd means being a prime target for bullying. Which is incredibly sad because it can long-term ruin someone’s love for a hobby or area of interest. And possibly lead to even worse outcomes.
The web and social media in particular is a place where kids and teens can find peers they may not find in the “real world”.

A great site for downloading open source fonts is https://fontsource.org.
They provide files already converted to WOFF2, unlike the Google Fonts download feature.
