I am very, very sorry to hear this. it sounds & is brutal. Also, if I may, your students -- suffering themselves (I know how exhausting it can be helping them get over the finish line; the health issues, physical & mental, are profound & ubiquitous), might let you share & even appreciate a teensy bit of what you're experiencing. It's tricky to do & maybe you don't want to but it might provide you (& them) some relief.

When she won’t, they make up scandals — in this case, that she refuses to sit down w/mainstream media & say scandalous things. I know this is a small thing but was anyone else grossed out by #Vance constantly responding to questions and comments by calling out "Norah," "Tim," and "Margaret"? It's the semblance of congeniality and acknowledgment that lays the groundwork for the audacious stream of lies to come. Tom Cotton does it, too. It's this deliberate use of proper names that reeks of smugness, sleeziness, and condescension.

But the article misses that opportunity with its context-free adjectives: "puzzled," "annoyed," "quizzical." The man has frontotemporal dementia for crying out loud.
