I think that was a vibed artifact. But yes the idea is to make this feature where a bluetooth connected user could detect a new peer on the mesh and forward them messages they might have missed. I don’t think this is a reliable feature yet though.
on location services: gps isnt actually used in the app, but the bluetooth module needs it which is why you have to give that permission. Might be possible to not require it, but that’s a task for a #goose

i was just having this idea, if the cache was propagated all over by BLE then with bloom filters I think it would lower the reliance on connectivity.

No TS libraries right now. I started working on adding it to cdk but also trying to learn rust at the same time so thats a long way out.

1. pretty sure you can configure how often you have to re authenticate. If you are not authenticated then, for example, when you try to use tailscale to ssh into a remote machine you are given a link in your terminal that you must visit (login.tailscale.com), then you perform whatever authentication like user/pass, google, or github (whatever you chose to set up), and now your terminal session is authenticated and you can proceed with accessing the remote machine. As far as I can tell using the tailscale VPN on top of your regular VPN does not work, so you must turn you VPN off before authenticating with tailscale
2. For the purpose of public internet traffic I think they do pretty much the same thing, just I control the proxy server and holesail is free. I can easily move the proxy server wherever, just using a VPS so I don't have to mess with my home firewall config.
However, I can just share with you a holesail connection string, and if you are running holesail you can peer directly with me and access whatever port I am sharing

I'm trying to make something where I can assign domain names to my self-hosted services and connect to a VPS with holesail. I got a basic implementation working, but do you have any code to share related to your deployment?

I've recently started experimenting with holesail and setup a forward proxy to expose self-hosted holesail services to the broader internet.
Have you experienced issues when you stop the holesail server then try to restart it? I'm using holesail-manager, and when I stop the server then restart, I am unable to connect from the client until I make a new server session. Seems like it creates a new connection string...

Holesail.io is next level
I've always wanted to self-host, but for most pieces of software this is no simple task. A while ago I attempted to set up sovereign-stack.org by @npub1j4z…wuxp (which I still think is the ideal solution), but the necessary network configurations are over my head.
I just set up a test mint running on hardware I own! You can use it at https://testnut.brownduff.rocks (no promises on how long it will be up).
For this setup, I am still relying on AWS to connect me to the broader internet, but that's it. I am running nginx on a free AWS instance with 1 GB memory and 1 CPU, then connecting to my home server via holesail. My next steps are to make the AWS deployment more automated and be able to handle any number of domains/holesail connections.
I've been trying to figure out how to self-host for a long time and be able to expose things like a mint or a blog without using tor or VPNs. Holesail knocks everything else out of the park in terms of complexity and ability to just make it work.

Adding a bolt12 offer to your profile is the easy part, but then there needs to be ways of paying that offer. That project was basically all the ways i could think of using cln to pay an offer (REST, nostr wallet connect, and cashu mint). But it all used cln under the hood, so not very easy for zapping

in general yes, not sure about having a default though. potentially a wrapper around the existing cashu-ts api that adds storage functionality while keeping the core functions the same and accessible
my experience has been that proof management is the most bug prone aspect of a wallet... storing duplicate proofs, deleting proofs before a melt is confirmed, keeping spent proofs, not getting the change, etc.
also managing things like unpaid mint quotes is cumbersome
