These beliefs rest on the idea that using certain legalistic phrases will protect individuals from government overreach or entitle them to special privileges. This mindset seems to stem from a magical view of language—that somehow, the right words can shield someone from the coercive forces of the state.
In reality, the existence of a government is not solely to infringe upon individual freedoms but to reduce the amount of harm one must tolerate in everyday life. It’s a form of a protection racket, but with the crucial distinction that it offers certain freedoms and mechanisms—such as voting, free speech, and the ability to run for office—that give citizens some influence over the system. Even though government may be filled with nepotism, cronyism, and a power elite that largely serves its own interests, it still contains elements that restrain absolute chaos.

The choice between government and no government is essentially a choice between *some* theft and *complete* theft. In a functioning democratic republic, however imperfect, the people theoretically have the ability to limit how much is taken from them, through checks, balances, and representation.
Thus, under a representative government, you endure a limited amount of coercion and theft. It’s far from perfect, but it’s a more stable and equitable alternative to the unlimited, unregulated theft that would result from the collapse of government altogether.

I had a very productive meeting with a friend last night. We discussed Trump at the bitcoin conference, Lumis, all of the "bitcoiners" around Trump, the sudden about face of Jamie Diamon on bitcoin and the "defection" of Kennedy.
Why is Trump committed to making energy so abundant? It all points to one thing.
Trump was chosen by the deep state to squash bitcoin. He is pacing and leading on the topic and when he is selected into office he will make many announcements that bitcoiners will get very excited about. Legislation and executive orders will be passed, but they all are designed to poison the well.
* Free energy is bad for bitcoin.
* Controlling semiconductor fabs by bringing them into the US, is bad for bitcoin.

What do I mean by bad for bitcoin? I mean it slows adoption. Price action, even if you see as irrelevent, is a major orange-pilling force.
The price of bitcoin during this and past epochs is closely tied to its cost of production. At least part the cost of production is set by the average cost of electricity to produce blocks. Ultimately, the base price of bitcoin is calculable by the amount of profitable mining equipment, operational expenses, the current hashpower and the average cost of mining pool energy. Make electricity 1/10th the cost and the cost of fresh bitcoins at least gets cut in half. Hashpower and difficulty is not determined by the price of electricity, but by the trading price of bitcoin and the semiconductor fab bottleneck. The amount of energy expended per block is determined by the amount of profitable equipment is in existence. Therefore free energy is bad for bitcoin.
Incriminating stablesats is bad for bitcoin adoption, and goos for the dollar. Stablesats enables the bitcoin network to piggyback on the unit of account in existing jurisdictions. This is how people are solving the soy-TOFU problem (Trust On First Use). Not so much as nostr has a problem with new users needing to trust other nostriches, but they can't carry-over their identity and credibility from other platforms. Yes, its a soyboy bitch about nostr, why should you have instant credibility on another platform with no work? But its a valid point that people shoukd have a way of authenticating themselves in nostr without posting their new identity on the old platform (because of censorship by the platform).
So how do you do it?
Rather than promoting your own new identity, demote imposters. This is possible by associating yourself with a bitcoin wallet address that you post on both platforms. This way, you are saying on either platform "I accept donations at this address" without explicitly indicating you are moving away from the compromised platform. If, on nostr, you can include a message signed by the wallet's private key indicating that your npub also controls that same wallet address, then you have proof positive on nostr that you are who you say you are.

When roasting coffee, there are three natural boundaries that differentiate light, medium and dark roast.
If you've ever made popcorn in a pot, you know it has to get to a certain temperature before the kernels start popping. It seems to take forever, then if you are heating them evenly, all of a sudden they all seem to want to pop at the same time.
Coffee is similar, but instead of popping they "crack". It sounds like a quiet popping, and its the sound of the bean forming microcracks and slightly expanding. With coffee, there are three phases to "cracking". You roast it to one phase and the beans all begin to crack. This goes on for about a minute then the cracking stops. Now you have a light roast.
Keep roasting it and it will start cracking again, this is the second crack. This is now a medium roast.
The "third crack" which happens for a longer period of time, kind of like trying to pop that last layer of popcorn seeds at the bottom of the pot, and this is where the skill comes in; to dark roast it without burning it.
Because the darker roast requires more time, it deterioriates the caffeine as a result, and this is why it isn't as potent. Its also this dark roast that is more appropriate for mixing with sweeteners and fat. This is why they use espresso bean (always dark roasted) for these drinks.
