NHAM is an online music magazine for all things Fedi-music. It draws connections between indie musicians, fair distribution platforms and listeners, under a shared ethos.

We publish regular new music releases, reviews and news from the community to an audience of thousands of unique daily visitors.

As the go-to music curation platform in the Fediverse NHAM also hosts music videos, has a radio channel and contains gig listings for both real life and online performances.

We aim to help develop and nurture the ecosystem which envelopes all of the fair platforms that currently support indie artists in The Fediverse, and in turn enhance discovery, distribution, attribution, fair artist payment, consent and trust. Interoperability and community are key to making this work.

What a First Third Week!Three nights of live streamed music events in the Fedi via @npub1fqx…5mj3 went down a storm!###
PuluStarting with @npub1xsn…x547‘s [3rd W3dn35day](https://nham.co.uk/2026/03/3rd-w3dn35day-online-gigs/ ) gig, bathed in purple light and surrounded by a multitude of screens and colourful blinking gizmos, pulu (@npub1gga…8u8y) began the set by saying that pretty much [everything that could go wrong had gone wrong](https://anticapitalist.party/@ahihi/116255015158492709 ), and that they were forced to go with a last-minute plan B and hoped for the best. Pulu then proceeded to conjure up some lovely twinkling chords out of the legendary Music Mouse program on an old Mac running System 7, before switching to their [live-coding environment](https://anticapitalist.party/@ahihi/116255005890476307 ). The public was then treated to an astonishing mix of delicate soundscapes, powerful intricate beats and basslines, mesmerizing synthetic and organic textures mixed in with sampled speech and field recordings. That would have been wondrous enough, except that Pulu knows how to marshal all that technology and all those sounds in service of an exceptional musical sensibility, which constantly walks a fine line between harmonic tension and glorious relief, or to put it differently, Pulu totally killed it and blew the socks off everyone in the TIBtv chat.###
ControlControl (@npub1ldq…50m4) absolutely ripped it up in the first [NHAM in Concert](https://nham.co.uk/2026/02/introducing-nham-in-concert/ ) event on Thursday, with an oontzing, stomping, near-two-hour set. He played the whole of the album [MANIPULATE](https://music.control.org/manipulate/ ) on the 25th anniversary of its release, followed by some bangers from his latest [covers album](https://music.control.org/replicate1/ ). The chat was rocking and we had over 50 people come through the doors! The love shown was there to see both in the chat and by way of donations – his ko-fi page surpassing the $333 goal. One particularly touching message came in after the show from someone control hadn’t met before. They were merely watching TIBtv when the show kicked in. They loved the show, its “global tiny desk vibes”, donated, shared the album, learnt that CHVRCHES existed from the finale cover, and is now loving them.

MeljoannRounding the week of live streams off, the [NHAM Listening Party](https://nham.co.uk/2026/03/nham-listening-parties-more/ ) proved a big success too. We were slightly apprehensive as to how this might be received as it was a mostly audio affair on a visual platform (@npub15fs…l243), but it went down a treat. Again a super-appreciative audience were in and showed their love to @npub1nuu…gjr3 as they listened to her album [Status](https://faircamp.meljoann.com/status/ ) from start to finish. Meljoann was there herself to feel the love. Here are a few gem quotes from her in the live chat:

New TIBtv Schedule and New Fresh Video Show**By @npub166d…xj3f**
We’ve been on air for almost a month! That seems impossible. During that time we’ve continued to get new submissions which is great!
For launch month we centered our programming around daytime hours in each part of the world due to holidays, and we had to keep our segments short until we had enough material to put on a good show!
Well now we can make some important changes that we hope you’ll love:##
Ready For Prime Time– The schedule still repeats 3 times a day but we are now targeting prime time in each part of the world starting at midnight UTC (prime time in the Americas), 6am UTC (prime time down under) and 6pm UTC (prime time in Europe). Thanks to schedule repeats, you can generally catch shows during the day as well.
– There will still be more than 5 hours of eclectic “everything plays” tucked in throughout the day. This firehose of genre-fluid videos will keep you guessing “what next?”
– Electronic, Pop, and Rock shows are now a full hour!
– NHAM Live and Talk shows will play twice each day at alternating times.
– Finally, we are planning a Friday night Electronic takeover!##
New Fresh Video Show– We’ve added a 30 minute **Fresh** show to showcase new material recently added to the channel, and those tracks will go into heavier random rotation.
This means artists who submit new material can tune in during the Fresh show to have a better chance of catching their videos on-air. But be aware: we are currently getting more videos than can fit in one show so you might have to watch a couple of times! This is good news.
– **On Fridays, we will extend the Fresh segment to 1 hour** to highlight as many new videos from that week as possible, **and open the chat for the 6pm UTC Fresh hour** so we can all watch the new videos together and chat about them with the artists! The Friday Fresh hour will then segue into the extended 2 1/2 hour Electronic show.

TIBtv uses [Owncast](https://owncast.online/ ) to broadcast a 24/7 stream of music videos from consenting artists of the fediverse.
One of the best ways to watch is on the [official TIBtv site](https://tv.theindiebeat.fm/ ) because you can watch in almost any browser on almost any platform, whether desktop or mobile, and when the chat is open, you’ll be able to chat with people about what you are watching. We plan to open the chat regularly so artists and fans can meet up and…chat. No barriers here!
The stream will also be available to watch right here in the VIDEO box on the [NHAM home page](https://nham.co.uk/ )!
But you may want to watch in other ways. Specifically, you may want to watch these videos in big beautiful HD on your living room TV, and there are many ways to do that!
First, if you have a Roku device such as a Roku set top box, Roku TV, or streaming stick, then The Indie Beat has a Roku app for you which supports all of the The Indie Beat Radio channels and the TV and Live video channels as well. If your release was featured in the NHAM [Releases](https://nham.co.uk/category/releases ) section and you would like us to include it in our regular promo video, then **use the form below to upload an MP3 file** of your track.
The promo video:
– plays the first 10s of your music
– displays the embedded cover art
– displays the artist name, track title, and album name
**So be sure to properly tag your files before uploading them!**
You can choose which snippet viewers will hear by editing your MP3 to include your desired section in the first 10 seconds.

The chat will be open about 10 minutes beforehand, so show up a little early so you **don’t miss the big launch surprise**! We have a short treat in store for you and then we can watch music videos together.
We will **repeat the launch**:
– At **20:00 UTC on the 28th (for North America)**
– And a third and final time at **4:00 UTC on the 29th (for our antipodean friends)**.

It has been less than a month [since we announced open submissions for The Indie Beat Television](https://nham.co.uk/2025/09/how-indie-video-killed-the-spotify-star/ ) everywhere we could think to across the fediverse:

If you somehow haven’t heard of TIBtv, then visit any of those links to find out more.
Since then, we’ve been hard at work laying down the infrastructure, coding, transcoding, running tests, and making plans.
In this short time, I am happy to report that we have accumulated:
– 13.5 hours of music videos
– ~1/2 hour of original animation
– 14.5 hours of live stream recordings
– 15.5 hours of artist interviews
– ~1/2 hour of cross promos, station idents and jingles, eye candy, and more station materials…
– …for a total of 31GB of 720p @ 3000kbps transcoded video material and my tired old CPU is on fire!
This thing is going to happen. For real!
I am lucky to preview most of this material and wow, you are going to be amazed. The level of talent just on the fediverse is staggering. I already knew the musical talents were next level because I hear it every day on [https://theindiebeat.fm](https://theindiebeat.fm/ ), but some of these videos take my breath away!
And here is the real bit of news! We have a launch date!
**Sunday, December 28th, 2025!**
That’s right, we are planning to launch in the midst of that *other music video channel’s* death throes! Indie music videos will be there to comfort you, and there won’t be a moment’s gap in your music video stream!
But seriously, why the 28th? Well, we still need time to iron out the kinks and let more material flow in, and we have a special launch surprise from the incomparable @npub1tk7…6cq3 that needs finishing, but mainly because that is smack in the center of the end-of-year holiday boredom period and we need something to look forward to and we hope you do too!
We still want and need:
– Original animations
– Music videos
– Station identifications and short form eye candy
There is still time and space for [you to submit your indie art](https://nham.co.uk/2025/09/how-indie-video-killed-the-spotify-star/#form ). There is even [time to collaborate](https://mastodon.social/@limebar/115493596864325969 )!
