This morning I found out through the #Ardour forums that Dave Phillips has passed away in November 2023: https://discourse.ardour.org/t/dave-phillips-1951-2023/111854
Dave Phillips was a pioneer when it came to Linux audio with his articles for the Linux Journal and by laying out the foundations for the Linux audio community.
Rest in peace Dave!

Even contractors are not allowed to access the corporate network from a Linux device. They are provided a company laptop if their own device does not meet corporate standards.

Recently I had a video call at work with the contractor who's going to replace me. He was puzzled that one of the reasons I resigned was that I'm not allowed to run Linux on my work station.
Can I, as a Linux engineer, demand a Linux work station? Is that weird? Am I too firm in my principals? Or is Linux on the desktop still so frowned upon that it's more like a matter of misunderstanding?
