Types in tests feels like an odd one. Especially for libraries, it can be handy to have your tests typed to confirm the types are correct.
For application code, yeah there's little point

In April, Minio removed many of the features from their web interface on the free version. Last week, they stopped building the free version entirely, requiring you to build it yourself: https://github.com/minio/minio/commit/9e49d5e7a648f00e26f2246f4dc28e6b07f8c84a
My only use is for Terraform state, so the very second @npub12r3…zz58 ships their Terraform backend, I'll be burning my Minio install with fire!
What a great example of completely killing off your community.

After over 4 months of development, django-tasks 0.9.0 is out! 🥳

I bought a cordless Einhell on Prime based on a bunch of online reviews. We don't have the biggest garden, but it did the front and back like a champ. Does feel a little like I'm pushing around a kids toy, but again in a good way!

Privileged LXCs definitely have a bad name, but I agree they shouldn't be necessary all the time. My use case at the moment is explicitly for bind-mounting to keep the UIDs (which IIRC is all privileged really does).
Might need to accelerate my plans for moving off of Proxmox... (Which i've been saying and researching for years 🙈 )

If enough people have taken the time to even open a forum thread, that should really be enough sign that it's a good idea.
As I said in my statement, I strongly suspect the depths of Trac and the forum are filled with great feature nuggets like that - it just needs some people with the interest to triage them, revive discussions and hopefully help them (and the people who raised them) move them forwards.

Putting up fences to keep the "bad stuff" out is a natural response, but it's often too heavy of a hammer.
I like the model of letting the community chime in on their thoughts on a feature in the forum, so long as we empower them to do so, and make their opinions heard.

The number of times I've heard "I got my site running in production, but static files are missing". It's easy to fix when you know how, bit it's a real barrier for people releasing their shiny new project.

I think Python is the only ecosystem where the Dev servers are explicitly not production grade. It's definitely a food-gun for new users, but it does also avoid each framework needing to build and maintain their own.
