Spent the last few days backing up my laptop, reset it yesterday, and did a fresh install of Fedora Linux. Today was setup day: email, software, accounts, and all the small things that come with starting fresh.
One big change: after more than 15 years, I decided to move away from my old Google address and registered a new account with Disroot. The Disroot address will become my new main email, while the old Google inbox can quietly collect spam in the background.
Now I’m listening to a podcast and maybe later I’ll continue tweaking the system a bit more. Some photos from the last few days 📸

Why is Germany doing this?
The problem was that Germany lost control over the ex soldiers. They couldn't find them anymore (some live in Africa today). So they restart it with making that 17 to 45 years age male law. They also introduced that if you are not keeping up the rules, it gets expensive.
By the way, German military draft does not depends on your residence, it is your passport. If they want you, they can push a button and if you cross a border in or out of a Interpol country, you are under arrest and get deported to Germany.

Russia & Ukraine -> need every soldier right now, everyone is welcome there.

Got some real-life tasks done too — laundry sorted 🧺

- I have @nprofile…fhc5 connected over NWC
- same wallet connected with Albygo and NWC works fine
- receive SATs works

🚨 Travel Warning from Namibia 🚨
I arrived in Windhoek full of excitement for my journey across Africa… and within hours, everything went wrong.
I was attacked and robbed by two armed men on this very stairway. The first went straight for my stomach with a knife, while the second came from behind, aiming for my ribs. In that split second, I had to fight for my life. I managed to throw the second attacker down the stairs, but the first escaped with my phone and all my data, including everything from Zanzibar to Namibia.
I survived, but it was terrifying. For two weeks, I waited in Windhoek for police action. Nothing happened. No phone. No SD card. Just disappointment and frustration. I eventually had to move on, shaken but alive.
Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Namibia for tourism anymore. The landscapes are stunning, but the risk of violent robbery is real.
I’m sharing this so others can stay alert, protect themselves, and make informed decisions. Travel can be amazing, but sometimes the worst can happen when you least expect it.

Driving from Livingstone to Windhoek — but this journey took a dark turn.
The day I arrived, I was attacked and robbed by two armed men. The first went for my stomach with a knife, and the second came from behind on my left, aiming for my ribs. In that moment, I had to let go of the first attacker — and he escaped with my phone and all my data from Zanzibar to Namibia.
I survived… but it was close.
After two weeks waiting in Windhoek for updates, nothing happened. I’m disappointed with the police work, and I didn’t get my phone or SD card back. I’ve now moved on.
After this experience, I can’t recommend Namibia for tourism anymore.
