I found it too complex still today to setup any of these office solutions. It's madness.
I can't think of any other service I run on my homelab that is harder to setup than any of these office solutions. Maybe one exception and that is a TURN server. I'm not considering myself an average person. I'm software engineer for 30 years. Run many different services already.
I have a fully hardened docker daemon setup. So just know I can't run images with root. Etc

For example why do I need to press multiple times on the "Update apps", since the first time I press it only update the first app. And the second time it actually updates all NC apps.

it's called decentralized and sometimes it's federated depending on the underlying technology. Like peertube/Mastodon/mbin/lemmy are federated using ActivityPub protocol.
While other technologies like torrents are also decentralized, but peer to peer (p2p). And often using a Distributed Hash Tables (DHT). But not federated. I personally like p2p even more.

I can go more in details.
First, we suffer from a regression which caused cache conflicts in NC32 using APCu when running two instances on the same PHP server. Which was also a huge security issue.
Second, a lot of apps where not compatible and force itself off and in we can't enable them at all anymore (like checksum, antivirus for files, and more featured apps).
We had issues with suspicious login app to be disabled after upgrade, but causing missing db table: oc_login_address.

I got so many issues and regression problems with nc32. Don't get me started.
So from an end-user and sysadmin perspective. This was the worse rollout release thus far. Sorry to say, but I'm honest.

and they are killing the 'normal' internet at the same time. Since those websites results are not used anymore meaning no traffic to these sites.
That is why a lot of websites and also online businesses a basically closing down.
The irony is extra high due to the fact those LLMs were trained on all the public internet. And now killing that same internet / source of truth.
