Pyramid has a one command easy install. I haven't tried it from terminal but I don't see why it wouldn't it. It also solves your certs, nip-05, and members questions in the UI. Following the setup instructions of adding your npub makes you the root and you can control everything else from the interface. I can't help with the redirect question. 😅

I'm not sure which client you use, so I cannot offer advice, but thank you for taking the time to realize that you need to curate your own space. One of Nostr's greatest strengths is empowering an individual's freedom of association, but many have knee-jerk reactions to distasteful content before realizing that fact.

You might want to look further into Blossom media servers, too. There is a number of paid services or you can run your own on a vps fairly simply. Free services will likely have limitations that make sharing long videos more difficult.

Primal had a caching server in the middle that fetches from relays, then serves notes & notifications to you from there. You don't actually read anything from relays in Primal, though you do still write to them. It reduces bandwidth & creates consistency within their environment, but it can miss some events or take extra time to aggregate.
Alternatively, you might notice things missing in Nostria, on occassion, if it has difficulty connecting to either your relays or the relays of your contacts. This latter situation can affect any client. Many, like Nostria, use a list of fallback relays to try to reduce the effects of poor connectivity. Primal's situation is unique to Primal.

You'll notice this across all clients, to some extent. Clients use different methods to fetch your mentions from many relays. There is also some variation in where/how the sender's client sends these events.

Anything free and reliable is heavily used. Perhaps one of the larger WoT relays, such as nostrelites.org ,would be suitable.

If you used a client that was not finding your current follow list and you made a follow or unfollow action, it may have overwritten your list. You might be able to recover it at follows.nostr.com or metadata.nostr.com . Some clients have rhe feature built in- nostur, following.space , primal premium to name a few

Haven & Pyramid are both good solutions for your first 2 questions. There is also the RelayTools hosted relay service, if it needs to be trivially easy for the user.
Nostr.watch for hefty monitoring.
Relayguardian.com for basic monitoring + notifications of downtime.
There is slowly getting to be more in-client options for monitoring and managing, too.

I lectured a bot(?) for giving out inaccurate answers to asknostr questions and it appears to have stopped answering people. 😅
I don't know if it's an llm account driven by a human or an autonomous thing... but props for stopping, to whoever is in charge of that one. I know the intention is good & I hope you can figure out a better way forward. (Also maybe consider labeling it as llm-generated in the bio or something. People appreciate transparency)

It's getting better on the user end through management tools, wider support for server lists, suggestions for compression, and server choice at upload. I think it can work, but I am not very knowledgeable on the subject. Everything _feels_ much more usable now than a just few months ago. I think that is a good sign.

Yes, some clients connect to a defined set of relays to fetch notes. Others look at your follow list to find the relays your follows are actually publishing to and fetch from those.
Yakihonne does the latter. Damus looks for notes only on the list of relays that you define. Primal only connects to their caching server, which makes a best effort attempt to collect notes from other relays.

Oh I see! Yeah, your (or any) follow feed may not be the best example of nostr. People come & go, topical conversation tends to saturate home feeds, etc.
For your WordPress site, it might be nice to display a relay feed of trending notes or whatever other relay you think is nice. That way it never goes stale.

That bot gives out a lot of malformed advice, which sounds real but it's often very wrong. You can use the Primal app itself as a signer. It's under settings > remote login.

Yeah.
I've noticed a trend among nostr things... a lot of the language used by developers that they think is confusing to "normies", is not the confusing part at all. It's usually some obscure little term that is common in their world, but has some other connotation in everyday life.
Like, everyone knows what a "relay" does, but "repo" means you just watched your car take get hauled off on a tow truck 😅 ... or your holdup, I assume was "identifier"... the everyday person is used to being handed those by an authority or automated system.

That bot always sounds like it knows what it's talking about but it often provides hallucinations or old/unrelated information. Occasionally it's right but its rare.
I can't find it on web or the app. If it's there, It's very hidden. You manage your blossom servers on bouquet.slidestr.net but I don't know if Nostria uploads to your server list or a hard-coded selection.

Ok, the best option you currently have with Primal is to shut off new follower notifications. Primal's relay settings handle where you send but not how you recieve.

It is a spot that lists a user's recommended nostr apps. You basically endorse apps and their profile icons appear in that space. There used to be an easy way for user's to do that, but it was unfortunately abandoned and I am unaware of a replacement.

There are also local mobile options. Citrine for Android, zapstore.dev and Aegis for iOS in the Apple appstore .
Haven is a popular choice for a personal, network-connected relay:

It would be great if everyone would or could... at least a local, personal one to back up each own's data. A relay that's publicly accessible but still for personal use is a step up. Hosting for a few friends, family, or small community is another... and so on. Anyone can do it on their machine, vps, or use a hosted "rental" service, as I call it, like relay.tool . What it entails is ultimately determined by what you want to do.
Whether one wants to contribute to others, build a business around their relay(s), protect their own ability to speak, or just to preseve data, there is plenty of incentive to do so.

You'll want to put wss://nostr.wine in your write/outbox relays.
If you also purchased the wss://filter.nostr.wine subscription, you will want to put that one in your read/public inbox relay list, too.
It looks like you're connecting to quite a few relays. You only need a few, maybe 3-4 per category. You can probably drop some of those and save on bandwidth and data consumption while not effecting your experience. Removing some, like nostr.band, might actually improve performance.

You only need 3-5 good, appropriate relays per category. More than that will degrade client performance.
Different types of relays perform different tasks. It's important to connect with the correct types of relays more than anything. You can a bit of see what particular relays do at https://nostr.watch . Many of those listed above will provide no benefit, if you attempt to read/write to them. Adding all, or even adding randomly, is not good advice.

You're not seeing things. Those are engagement seeking bot accounts. The best way to avoid them is by shutting off your new follower notifications (or to try a client that does not have such notifications).
