As someone who can’t fully leave the control system(yet), I really appreciate @Jeff Booth ‘s advice to try to incrementally shift more and more of my time and energy into bitcoin over time.
I still need my fiat job and other fiat systems to ensure my family has what it needs… but I can slowly port my time. The last couple of months I have started:
- Spending more time on Nostr than other social platforms.
- Meeting with Bitcoiners IRL.
- Keeping my money outside of the fiat system.
- Posting my videos natively on Nostr.
- Paying my kids allowance in btc.
- Got my first node running.
- Zapping people like a psychopath.
- I’m continuously on the lookout for how I can find my own unique way to provide value in the Bitcoin space (haven’t found it yet though..)
… it’s not a lot, but it’s not nothing. It’s easy to discouraged, but we are winning, it’s just happening in slow motion. Stay vigilant, stay humble, and do something within the Bitcoin ecosystem everyday and we’ll continue to win.

The incentives are pretty wack. Since you get payed for eyeballs, you will see every other X user jumping on the hottest thing of the day (today it’s daycares!). Ragebait is also running rampant, as you can just create an account that criticizes something that has a passionate community (I.e Tesla, Bitcoin…). People make a killing. As a europoor person I would be tempted to make 50k a month shitposting for likes. unfortunately I would hate myself for doing it.

What have you done for Bitcoin this year?
I’m often frustrated because I feel like I want to find a way to contribute to Bitcoin, the Bitcoin community, and spreading the good word to all the plebs. But I haven’t figured out exactly how to do this in a meaningful way yet. I’m still looking for how I can use my time and skill to contribute in a unique way in this space.
But today I realized I’ve actually done something this year. A small thing, but more than nothing.
I have a YouTube channel where I review nonfiction books for people committed to lifelong learning. This year I have reviewed and recommended several books that could open people’s eyes to Bitcoin (directly and indirectly)
- The Bitcoin Standard
- The Mandibles (thanks @nprofile…26zu for the recommendation!!)
- The Big Print
- The Price of tomorrow
- Everything divided by 21 million
I don’t have a huge audience but these videos have been viewed by at least 10-15k people. And a lot of these people, I assume, are not bitcoiners (they come to me for other reasons).
Maybe a person or two has taken steps towards understanding bitcoin thanks to one of my videos? If so, I’m pretty happy with my contribution!
I would love to hear how you have spent time promoting the Bitcoin way in 2025.

Then you pay a yearly tax of 1% on your holdings regardless if you made gains or loses. A good deal for modest retail investors that are bitcoin curious.
