On January 29, I'll be leaving for India
Many friends will be with me, including you at Mastodon and many others in the virtual and real world.

Next Tuesday I had a flight to Georgia, where I would have started my bike journey to India, yes I had because I decided not to take it.
I travel for myself, to understand who I am and to help those less fortunate than me.
The last few days have changed the course of events and today a journey that began five years ago with the pandemic ends and a new one begins that I don't know where it will take me but that I'm very happy to travel.

It's been exactly one year since the beginning of the last long journey that took me from Sardinia to the Holy Land.

1️⃣ I took off the jacket and tie that I used in my beloved SAP projects and started wearing colorful cycling shirts.

I pass by this mural every day.
How I would have loved to visit Palmyra on my last bike tour to the Middle East.
I would have honored a great person, Khaled Mohamad al-Asaad.
He was a Syrian archaeologist who headed the antiquities in the ancient city of Palmyra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
He held this position for over forty years.
Al-Asaad was publicly beheaded by the Islamic State on 18 August 2015, at the age of 83.

Gli inglesi, che ci disprezzano, dicono che non si sa chi vincerà una guerra ma si sa chi la perderà; cioè chi avrà gli italiani al suo fianco.

I had managed to get back on my feet thanks to the loving care of Büşra, his mother and the mythical cat Eros; Unfortunately, I was left with an annoying pain in my groin.

THE TURKISH CURE
I had been sick, for the first time during my long bike trip, I had been really sick.
I had left the beautiful Istanbul after a week of revelry incompatible with my life as a cyclist.

In all my long bike journeys I am never coming back with my bicycle
I do develop a special relationship with her (yes with her) during my journeys

Two days ago I cycled along the Gaza Strip.
A place full of pain on both sides
I visited the memorial of the Nova Festival massacre where Hamas killed 364 people and kidnapped 40 more participants who were just having fun there!
I partecipated to many music festival when I was at the age of the killed boys and girls and I was very touched in the bottom of my heart during the visit!

I MADE IT!
The first idea of my bike journey was to be a pilgrim on two wheels and to travel from Rome to Jerusalem

Today I entered the Palestinian territories
Everything is controlled by the Israeli army
The areas occupied by the Israeli colonies are surrounded by huge walls and no Palestinian can enter and vice versa!

I could enjoy the beauty of that island together with an incredible community of Iranians who escaped the chaos of the big cities to find a more free and relaxing life.
I am missing it every single day but life must (unfortunately) go on!

The Rock Iguana sang it in the late seventies when the little Ciubekka was still playing with Gundam and Mazinga Z 😃
I was last week on the Persian Island of Qeshm and I loved its UNESCO Geopark, Canyons, Rock formations, Beaches and sparkling people community!
Many young people let crazy Tehran to live a new and peaceful life on Qeshm!

Do you like to bite the dust ?
The little Ciubekka has been doing it for the last three weeks in the south of Iran!
I have been cycling to super desertic areas full of rocks, mud and dust!
Dj Dino has made one of his famous videos about the song of Queen "Another bites the dust"
