I write about war and disease … but currently mostly #terrorism and the way the label is used by people who are killing more people than the terrorists.

I am a pacifist with narrow exceptions for self defence, and I am still angry that we let the pandemic become a forever problem.

I started learning #Yiddish in August 2023, but I haven't got far. I found the language interesting because I already knew a bit of Arabic and more of German. I can read about 6 alphabets and Abjads but I can only usefully communicate in English.

I live in one of the healthiest and most peaceful places on Earth (somewhere in the #WesternPacific region) but my country is only the "least bad". We need to be a far less selfish and less greedy nation. We need to shun our current murderous so-called allies, and be a much more generous to our neighbours.

Personally I am an atheist, but I believe that religion is usually more beneficial than harmful. I hold religion to the same standards as any other ideology.

it's sounding like #theWestisnext wasn't an Israeli warning, it was their ambition.
Palestinian groups have generally been very disciplined about not encouraging attacks internationally, the brief few years when the PFLP-EO and Black September took it international was when Israel exiled the PLO.
Israeli nationalists keep claiming they are protecting the world from their enemies, but really Israel is a massive destabilising influence. They create the problems, then make them everyone else's problem.

Not if they can avoid it. Why world they let anybody undo all time effort they put into obliteration?
Israel should be forced to pay to rebuild everything they destroyed in Gaza, starting with the universities. This backfired after WWI but Likud etc. keep claiming claiming Israel doesn't resemble Germany in WWII so that doesn't apply?

It really shouldn't be part of the negotiations for Israel to comply with bare minimum international law. Letting food aid in shouldn't be negotiable.

You don't know what Hamas or terrorism are, and you seem to be very poor of touch with humanity or you have a very narrow definition of who counts as human?
About 7 countries regard "Hamas" as a terror group, most of humanity – including many people in those countries, including me – don't regard a doctor connected to Hamas' as a terrorists.
It would not be valid to target an Israeli medic for being a member of #Likud (fka Irgun / Lehi), or an IDF reservist, or even a military medic, because all medics are forbidden as targets, regardless of political affiliation, and even if they are medics in the military.
There is actually nothing wrong with doctors being connected to Gaza government. Somewhere like #ShifaHospital was a government hospital. It's entirely normal and expected for doctors there to be connected to Hamas, that doesn't mean it's a terror facility, that means it's a goddamn public hospital. It was run in cooperation with the
#Hamas were severely over due for an election, but less over due than Abbas. When they won the election Israel (seemingly determined to maintain their status as the only country who are allowed to have a democracy in the middle east) declared the entire electoral list a terrorist organization, which included at least one Christian. The Christian won the Christian reserved seat in #GazaCity on the Hamas list. Maybe Americans hate Hamas for doing #DEI that favours #Christians ?

You seem to have learnt what you know about international law and Hamas from the IDF? The #IDF present their war crimes as compliant
There is no international law that would forbid doctors being members of Hamas, most of Hamas is not a military organisation, they are a political and religious movement, I suspect this is the main reason why Israelis never say #Qassam saying "Hamas" are all valid targets is like saying it would be valid for the British to start assassinating doctors who are members of Sinn Fein.
This is why we need to stop regarding all of #Hamas as a terror group! That's just deranged #Israeli propaganda deliberately intended to give them an excuse to kill civilian who are members of Hamas civilian government workforce. #Abbas has also spent nearly two decades undermining Gaza's civil service, but that's another story.
Even most of the #ExtrajudiciallyExecutey Qassami fighters were flat out murdered (especially, when this included their entire families), but murdering doctors is unambiguous goddamn bloody genocide.
Even if the doctors are part of Kataeb al Qassam, #MilitaryMedics are a protected class and targeting them is a war crime.
You could have a hospital where ever patient was a wounded combatant and every staff member is a military medic, and that is not allowed to be targeted.

The #Palestinian resistance is led by Hamas, the red sea blockade is one of the only time #Hamas and #AnsarAllah (Houthis)
Hamas are angry at the US but have only ever taken or endorsed non violent action outside their own region. Hamas keep America safe, they don't like America, but attacking it just builds public support for Israel, so Hamas actively discourage their supporters doing violence except in Israel and the occupied territories. The only recent exception I can think of has been Hamas endorsement of the anti #Assad / anti #ISIS groups in Syria, but that actually put them on the same side as the United States. For most of 2006 to 2023 Hamas only used violence within the 1967 occupied territories.

"the use of force" is the reason the rest of the world wishes America would end.
I agree with the Houthis about the Great Satan, but seeing that the people in the USA oppose the Great Satan makes me oppose attacks on civilians in the U.S.
Attacks on civilians – on #September11 or in the #GazaGenocide or in the air raids on civilians in #Dresden and #Berlin in #WWII – are often inspired or whitewashed by #propaganda claiming the #civilians are all guilty for the actions of their leaders.
The Houthis are literally on the opposite side of the planet, there have no international reach beyond their own waters and they are also not Palestinian.
