Maybe you took too much acid tbh. Happened to me too.
But yeah, I am a bit confused about Dorsey actually. He gave a lot of money to start up nostr right? And he seems to do good things related to bitcoin and other decentralized stuff from what I have been able to judge. On the bad side: his twitter became infiltrated by the government, block stocks never go up, and Bluesky is filled with leftists.
Regarding Elon, he does a lot of cool things, which is inspiring. Very productive guy with a strong vision for the future of humanity. He has been standing up well for his personal views too despite backlash. I have also learned that all his business are very dependent on government money, which might be a bad thing. Personally I dont want to get a tesla, an X account or a neural implant and I dont propose we should view him as an authority, but I respect his achievements.

Listened to a podcast episode with the founder John Carvakho on the Bitcoin takeover podcast and he did not have the best vibes I think. I feel like he spent more time talking bad about other bitcoiners rather than enthusiastically promote his own solutions. Maybe he just had a bad day XD

Cool, never heard of that before! I think it is good that there are several options for decentralized identity, chat and social media. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary ascribes the following meaning to the word flat (adjective):

A man, woman, or child walking upon the earth is attached to its surface by a gravitational pull directed towards the earth's center of mass. This pull defines the direction "down". Any movement perpendicular to "down" takes place in the horizontal plane. The person in question will, in other words, be walking on a flat surface.
This may seem like a word game, but it is actually sort of serious. The earth only seems round to an observer that is outside its gravitational field. But if that observer were to enter its gravitational field, he would see it fold out into a flat surface. It is plausible that every world, such as another universe, would seem round when observed from the outside. But it is only when you enter a world and become affected by its physical laws that you can judge its true shape.

Jack got me into bitcoin when I was researching stocks and read about block (square at the time). I think he is doing a really good job and he does not seem to prioritize maximizing shareholder value over helping the world. I wish cash app was available in europe!

In school, I never accepted the slippery slope argument (that if one decision is made that goes in a certain direction, it will open the door for further changes in that direction, which will eventually be undesirable). Every decision should stand on its own, and only be made if the decision-makers find it beneficial.
What I did not understand at the time is that the slope results from a group of people with a particular goal who are actively pushing towards that goal one step at a time. The people whose approval they need will then be less likely to react strongly if the steps are small.

I have always been fascinated by the movie The Matrix (the first, not a big fan of the others), and I spent some time thinking about what it means.
- Are they predicting that we will live in a simulated reality?
- Are they implying that we already live in a simulated reality?
- Is it a metaphor for living in a dictatorship where the information you take in and what you can do is strictly controlled?
Now, I tend to think that the matrix is our "social reality", the one we experience by taking in second hand information through education, the media, and generally the opinions of other people. In this context, leaving the matrix means learning to verify what we know though our own experience and by reasoning from first principles. When we reenter the matrix with our new awareness, we are able to navigate it more effectively and even modify it.
Where this model breaks down is that we do never actually live in "natural reality", instead, we use use our experience and reasoning to update our social reality. We never really leave the matrix, we just create our own.

I was thinking if it is possible to synthesize a given DNA sequence reliably and effectively, it would be possible to design new life forms and replace the DNA in an embryo. For example I could sequence my own DNA, replace all the genes known to be bad and replace them with standard or better alternative, then print it to clone a perfect version of myself and raise it as my child

My first problem with nostr was that most clients were slow to the point that I they often did not even start. So then it was just a relief to have something simple that worked. But it is good that there are different clients trying out different concepts.
