I darned $40 worth of socks with this $15 kit this weekend instead of throwing them out, and repaired the pockets on two jackets that would have been $30 each to have repaired at the seamstress. I’d say that’s a $100 DCA justification. Time spent: 3 hours while listening to podcasts. I never would have done it if I had never lowered my time preference and started saving in #bitcoin .

Statism and adherence to authority is baked right into our culture now.

Just be aware that those hazard trees growing next to it will be much easier and cheaper to remove now than when they are hanging over top of the structure and possibly not accessible. Especially if some of the roots have been compromised during excavation.

Here’s another couple of gems:
- memorize as much of the code as you can especially with respect to stuff that you won’t have access to for insulating and vapour barrier after the tin bashers get their ducting in or after chimney flues are installed
- learn the proper lapping of poly on exterior walls for tying in to your interior wall poly, and leaving lots of poly uncut in window RO’s for lapping later
- make sure the boarders aren’t flexing window frames inward by zip cutting drywall so close to windows that they flex in or can’t be insulated, or cause window frames to flex in if they get spray foamed
- remember your framers doing backing for towel bars, tp dispensers, vanities and fireplace mantels
- make sure cabinet walls don’t have studs crowned the wrong way. Same for fireplace walls
- get your basement window wells bolted on before foundation backfill
- get your final paint stage touchups done after flooring because carpet guys will rub the bottoms of walls with the carpet backing
- use a bright headlamp or light and a pencil or green painters tape to mark drywall finish deficiencies or paint deficiencies
- give hard copy deficiency lists and get subs to check off items so you don’t have to effectively do your inspection three or four times

Depending on the company, it can be good though. If there’s one bit of advice I’d give, develop inspection checklists for each phase and hold your subs to doing their own cleanups. Even if you have to lay down the law and hold back on their invoices. And get a feedback loop going with the estimators so they correct any regular shortages. And make sure they have a couple gophers on staff who can run for short materials and do the pack-ins on your finish packages, or hop on the goon spoon when needed for slab preps and before foundation inspections prior to backfill.

The only things I didn’t like about super work was upper management shaving days off my completion/possession dates so they could get paid sooner, dealing with building inspectors, and trying to get shit built on budget when the estimators and sales staff missed major parts of the material package in their estimates. They were working off a Timberline estimating database that was four years out of date, so materials and labor they estimated at $X per board or per square foot or per hour were now 50% more expensive. But the contract was already signed with the customer at the old labour and material prices, so I had to find people that would do the work basically for no profit. And try to find bargains on materials of poorer quality. And hold the subs to completing their deficiency lists by withholding 30% of their invoices. And personally run on short notice for all the materials they forgot on the estimates. Exterior wall studs, 2x10 headers, roof sheeting etc. Constantly short. That and framing packages that instantly warped into unusable shape once the banding came off. The company I worked for usually had me on 3-4 new stick builds, 3-4 ready to move homes, and 3-4 renovations at any given time. It was stressful as fuck. I’d stay on the tools myself man lol.

There’s been so much happen in the last three decades that should have resulted in vehicles being flipped over and burning in the streets, and nothing has happened. Dead silence in the streets while people sit glued to their televisions.
It’s too bad that by the time many of us wake up to the reality of how hard we are getting fucked by the government and corporations, that we already have families to endanger by becoming full time insurgents.
I wish I knew what I know now about who our real enemies are when I was 18. My parents still don’t know what’s really going on. Christ they still don’t even know what money is. I can’t blame them for not having opened my eyes to it all sooner.

I just figured it out and since this bone broth is so much more concentrated than what I could buy at the store I would have to buy roughly $90 worth of store-bought 900 mL cartons of beef stock at the grocery store to end up with what I have here. For $15 worth of bones! Plus the tallow as a bonus.

Here’s the tallow that I ended up with from this batch. As you can see I’ve used some already for cooking but after I boiled off the excess water and let it cool again, it is now rock hard. The fried eggs that I cooked in it were very tasty!
Just this quantity of beef tallow purchased at the butcher shop would be about $12.50 CAD. I ended up with this plus 8 1/2 quarts of bone broth for $15 worth of nice beef bones.

Here’s the surplus 6 quarts that just came out of the pressure canner. Three of these with nine parts of filtered water will make enough soup base to do about 3 gallons of beef and barley soup. It’s three times more concentrated than the beef stock that you will buy in a carton at the grocery store.

It’s definitely worth learning. A lot of the FUD surrounding pressure canner use is based on older crappy foreign made units that don’t have the safety features that modern pressure canners have. I literally learned everything I know about pressure canning off of YouTube. Being able to pressure can food allows you to store food on a shelf for years that would otherwise be using up freezer space. And unlike the food in your freezer, it isn’t suddenly at risk if you have an extended power outage.
Once you do a couple of batches and take your time following the instructions for properly preparing your jars and lids, and ensuring the proper headspace for them to create a good seal as they cool, it really is easy.
I’m certain that a lot of the FUD surrounding canning and pressure canning has been perpetuated by “big food”, because it is a way for people to gain greater food security without buying from them.
Believe me it’s going to be much better to learn these skills now than to learn them when/if we ever have a food supply crisis and you haven’t gained the tools and the skills yet. By then you could have a couple hundred quarts of shelf stable food laid up.
If it’s in your budget I would highly recommend a 21 quart American Standard pressure canner. It’s a tool that you will have for the rest of your life. Just make sure that whatever size and model you purchase will fit on your stove top in the space between the range top and whatever is above it i.e. a microwave or whatever with the lid on.

All I added to the 5lb of bones that I baked on a cookie sheet to brown them was kosher salt to taste, celery, onions, and garlic. Large canning pot. Cover ingredients with filtered water by 2” and simmered for 18hr. Lid on. Have a kettle on hand to top up with boiling water as it slightly loses volume. Depending on how much water you have to replace you might have to add some more salt to taste. Let it cool then remove all the solids with the ladle and double strain the mixture through a fine strainer into another large pot. Then use a canning funnel to pour the mixture into quart jars. Keep refrigerated good for 5 to 7 days but if you have several quarts that you aren’t going to use you can pressure those which I’m doing right now as we speak. There’s a ton of recipes for bone broth on the net

Literally the best feeling lately is smash buying the dip. It represents hope. I’m not stopping till I’m standing on the porch of a bought and paid for 30x50 cabin on 10 fenced acres with gated access and elevated shooting positions, looking at my garden, greenhouse, solar array, propane tank, wood pile, wellhead, chicken coop and a small barn/paddock. Maybe at least my kids will have a place that’s off-grid capable lol.

The result of this weekend’s 24hr beef broth and tallow project. We ended up with 8 1/2 quarts of broth and about 300g of tallow from a bag of beef bones that cost about 12,500 sats. $15CAD. Purchased at the butcher and the grocery, a similar quantity of the two products would be about $28. But the store bought beef stock is diluted 2x at least. I can make 3 gallons of beef and barley soup with 3 quarts of this base since it is so concentrated.

When we got home the cats were going crazy trying to see what was making all the noise in there, and the dog immediately led us down to the fireplace to show us. What do you see as the current best tech stack for
- permissionless anonymous internet access at home
- mobile comms and internet access with reasonable app compatibility for commonly used apps in a work environment
- sovereign computing and file serving
I’m on StartOS for my file hosting over Tor and for my Bitcoin tech stack
I have an encrypted volume dedicated Linux laptop for portable computing, access to my server and for doing Bitcoin stuff, and a Windows desktop with a similar setup as a backup, which is almost never connected to the internet
I am considering switching with my next phone purchase to a Google Pixel and Graphene OS
The big thing I’m trying to figure out right now is how to get internet access that is not permissioned. I know public wifi and a vpn are ok in a pinch, but I really want to set something up where I can access the internet with no gatekeepers or any links to my identity.

Judging by how effective the “test run” of Covid was at getting the whole world peeing down their leg and accepting the shot to keep their jobs in many instances, I think at some point the powers that be would like to eliminate all escape hatches, including services that integrate alternate currencies with the widely used financial system.

This interview with G. Edward Griffin, author of “The Creature From Jekyll Island”, has really got me thinking. I’d love to get some people’s opinions on some of the questions I’ve posed below.
Given that the majority of people in my country (Canada) and the US are still:
1) convinced that the right politician is going to be able to permanently stop the slow march towards totalitarianism and the establishment of a digital control grid
2) getting their news and education from collectivist-controlled sources and schools
3) disinterested in “what money is” and oblivious to the implications of the impending loss of a widely accepted currency that can be physically held and spent for the goods and services required to survive
I think it behooves those of us who know better to really start thinking about how we and our children are going to operate in a world where:
1) our main earnings are paid to us in a currency that is not held, but is purely digital and programmable
2) general access to information services, trade, commerce, healthcare and even basic internet access are subject to possession of a digital ID and an acceptable social credit score.
I’ve been watching this “creep” occur for three decades. The rate at which people are pulling their heads out of their asses and waking up to these dangers is currently too slow to stop it.
My questions to those who take the time to read this:
What are you going to do when all banks switch over to the new system, and your employer, retailers, and most of your normie friends and relatives are only using a CBDC, even if it is called by another name to get around the politics of it?
1) What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and received and email informing you that in 30 days all of your accounts are being forked over to such a system?
2) As a Bitcoiner, how do you plan on obtaining the things you need for you and your family to survive without access to the internet or vendors who widely accept Bitcoin?
I don’t have the answers. All I’m doing is focusing on laying up supplies and slowly increasing my self reliance. But I’m doing it on land owned by the bank.
I don’t see anything other than a prolonged general strike slowing this down. But will we ever have a critical mass of people to participate, who understand the cliff that we are racing towards, soon enough to make a difference?

The few people I’ve set up I’ve just gotten them to download Muun or Speed Wallet initially, but I tell them if they get an appreciable amount they don’t want to walk around with, or plan to start stacking or accepting Bitcoin permanently they may want to get me to help them set up Blue Wallet, and a Cold Card to sweep to.
Then I have some pre-written notes on my phone that I can text them over time to get them on their own learning path. One is a link to my educational website and a pdf copy of The Bitcoin Standard. One is about the difference between on-chain and Lightning. One is about recommendations on a good basic self custody setup including seed plates. Another is an intro to the concepts of KYC and non KYC and UTXO management.

I find if you go regularly and ask vendors if they accept bitcoin a couple of times and then if they do no, say “you should, it’s super easy and this wallet is awesome” and then show them your screen it inspires interest.

I think it’s important to explain the difference and talk about segregation of the two. But I try not to have/create any illusions about the capabilities of motivated investigators to find connections between individuals and UTXOs.

Yup, northern AB. Great place for it. If we wanted to we could just order a premade skid from Upstream Data whose manufacturing facility is only an hour and a half away. All self contained with a generator in one half and then racks/PDU’s on the other side of the enclosure. They’re deploying these units on oil and gas sites here, burning what otherwise would be flared gas.
