An old one, which I don't remember that well is "Lucifer's Hammer". (1977) A comet strikes earth.

Seven Eves is a different one - neal stephenson, so its pretty thoughtful.

I am Legend (1954). It's not mentioned.

"On the Beach"... quite enjoyed this one, but its a sad.

Afterland by Lauren Beukes... ah, this one is.... different.

"The book of strange new things" is post apoc and science fiction. Not read, but I'm very intrigued.

Having attempted to transcribe some old census records (years ago).... it's not the cursive. It's the scrawls. Much of the handwriting is atrocious.

The reason red/yellow bell peppers cost more than green bell peppers is the bright ones are ripe.
After the plant produces them, its done. No more, or very few peppers. The green ones don't trigger that. You get more of the green unripe ones because the plant keeps churning them out.

I've a friend who has thru hiked the Appalachian trail 3 times now - he is going to do the Pacific Crest at some point.

As some one who worked with it a lot....
Man, nostalgia took a long long time for me to see someone calling Windows 3.11 good.
.
It wasn't. I suppose I should qualify that with "to me it wasn't".... but..... it wasn't.
.
However, if it fits your use case, go for it.
I do know of one that was in production use into the 2010's. In Manufacturing, which won't surprise anyone.

As someone who used one of these (though more primitive) for 2 years as an early teen... good luck. Buy for performance, sharpen often, and mow even more often. It'll build muscle. And aggravation. So, so much aggravation.

Even if you stay on top of maintenance - which most folks don't (How often do you have someone out to tune up the AC?) Crawl under the house? (if you have a crawl space), pop a ladder up to look at the roof?
It still gets pricey.
