The research for adhd and autism is also SO skewed between male v female as well as overlaps so much with things like bipolar/cptsd, it’s hard and takes so much back and forth to try and treat/find the right solution.

That makes sense to me! I feel that sometimes things seem “trendy” not because they are arbitrary but because they are important and trending for a reason. The word neurodivergent simply means your brain development differs from what science and society has historically considered typical or average. Autism + ADHD are 2 large groups of people that often overlap that are included in this. You definitely do not have to label yourself anything though. however I have found that when I recognize what labels mean & if they properly apply to me, I have an easier time identifying things I need & understanding more medically/mentally as well as finding others that I seem connect with better! Which is helpful for me, but others maybe prefer to not to. Also, I think it’s absolutely normal to recognize there’s a “name” to an experience without adopting that name into an identifier. Completely makes sense to me!

I know this is so intermediate for you Nostr OG's. But the fact that I can sit here with Shakespeare building an app for myself and my communities using tools and resources that will not take advantage of their private information and use it against them, just makes me emotional. Years ago I was battling a postpartum psychosis and was desperate for resources that helped me feel more in control and safe. Now I'm creating those resources myself and can share them. Oh this made my heart squeeze real hard not gonna lie. I have friendships with all my little house arachnids and I KNOW they understand me. I told a large jumping spider rescued just in time from a house plant “these are not safe homes they flood!” And she has never done it since!

It’s 4am right now & the morning before around this same time I came out to my back porch as usual, almost stepping through the early stages of a spider web. I felt the webbing & paused to see the little orb weaver scurrying up her web out of my way. I gave her salams because spiders love when you give them salams. Then I told her that this was a very bad place to choose for her web because it would be accidentally destroyed. I pointed up high & said “build high, so I won’t walk into you!” Then I asked her to please focus on the mosquitos.
Guess who moved her work and is now stationed safely, at the top of my patio? There’s space for the both of us gal pal! Thanks for taking my advice ✌🏽🥹

On the other hand, reaching out to bridge very real and very problematic communal gaps that exist between Nostr & the other spaces, is not toxic nor bootlickimg but unbelievably necessary. A little girl in Houston Texas was stabbed and brutally attacked in her classroom by classmates with pens and pencils. She was in care for a while & not one news source covered it. When I spoke about it on my pages the video was held for review and then it was never pushed to the algorithm, lol I think it was viewed about 50 times. I have half a million people on one platform following.

I’m glad you ask, I have a lot of thoughts actually about this now that I’ve had time to be in this space a few weeks paying attention to the community & comparing. The more I’m here as someone who wants to understand, who wants to navigate over & start to take back my life in ways I did not know I could; the more I begin to think it’s not something crazy new WOW that I want. It’s not something mind blowing that is supposed to rock me out of my mainstream socks & keep me here. I want fun yes, I want creative yes, I want to socialize and I want community. But more than anything I want all of that available to me in a way that is accessible & manageable & safe. That I can squeeze it into the chaos of my life, use it for the chaos of my life, grow from it or earn from it but not that makes my life so much more chaotic & intimidating & stressful. The convos I’m having & the feelings I’m relating to from non nostrs is surprising me but also not, we want stability. When we do see there’s another option out there other than what big tech is doing, it’s not a matter of just walking out the door.
We don’t go back/stick to mainstreams because we love being controlled, we go back because uprooting our “lives” (and let’s be real socials/online/tech is our lives) to go somewhere we don’t even understand, to people who don’t seem to like us & think we are cringe & ignorant is a big ask when the world is burning around you already.
So far I gather
1. We want community/existing safety nets, so if we come there…we want to feel seen/welcome there 2. We want enough ease to make the transition possible aka user experience allows for us to not feel stupid & overwhelmed just thinking about trying something new. 3. We want to stop bouncing around to a bunch of random sources needing a million different credentials from us (web fatigue/social platform disillusionment) having to restart & relearn every time.
4. We want to feel like ourselves again doing it 5. Our inner child is fucking dead and buried somewhere we don’t even know. We wanna find it, and bring it back.

We could, you said yourself. Many here have become disillusioned, those who make big things happen have to push past that point for the things to happen.
Key words are “yet”. I started using twitter in 2011 & it was the dumbest most boring shit I’d ever seen. I had no one within 30 miles of me who knew what it was. It launched in 2006 didn’t it? I don’t remember giving it much more thought until over a year later in college when I saw more people using it. Then it was still ugly and boring to me coming from MySpace days but at least my friends were there, so therefore I came back. Now I fully recognize that Twitter might have taken off faster by the third or fourth year with users, but it was also completely brand new at its time and we were much easier to impress and far less brainwashed/stupid/stuck.
We are not just trying to impress people enough to make them “stay” on our side of the Internet. we are trying to undo about 2 decades of big tech propaganda, human psychology & conditioning while we’re at it. That takes a very different & combined approach, and a lot of whimsy!

This is my stance. I am NOT a pro here but I do know mainstream users cause I still am one trying to escape lol. There is so much skill/talent that can be brought here. we’d be shocked at what value they bring. My friend is writing a book & dedicates all to this, she doesn’t want to go mainstream-what if she had a community here who saw the worth. How about artists who spend months creating something that resonates deeply with you, or a musician who didn’t sell out mainstream & you genuinely support their new album. What about someone who comes to Nostr & dedicated their time/account to activism/raising money to send through their wallet & Nostr is how they got started. I’m not disagreeing with concerns or validity that often people lick boots but that can be their business. Others ARE worth it and they would come here to escape the trash they survive in on META if they understood it.

I had such mixed feelings watching her interview lol, was VERY proud to see her not take any bait to down another woman but also felt it all appeared very awkward & staged. She was my HERO from 2012-2015 until I started to track her outside of UFC.
Ronda made UFC imo because let’s just be real, when women get involved the men tend to come that way even more lol. She blew UFC up by wrecking gender norms & barriers in 2012. I very much so began to disagree with her over the years in a lot of areas, but will always respect what she’s done.
Go make some babies now sis, your time was well spent 😂🤘🏽

LOL financing markup. That’s incredible. I’ve been saying for years the financing system they claim to purchase homes in the US is “halal” is a total bullshit workaround to just get the same money for the Muslims running it. “We will buy the home, you pay us for it and if you want to own it in your name- PLUS a “markup” amount” or something lol so…..interest…? You’re charging additional amount on top of what it cost that each payment requires or you don’t get the home you’re buying? It’s confusing, and just a way to do the same thing but pocket off of it.

I can’t stop thinking about how addicted to difficulty the average American is. This conditioned idea in us that we must CAUSE some one or thing to suffer in order for there to be success, is so confusing to me. The reality of the world pairs struggle with joy, the universe POURS hardship into ease, nature is cruel and beautiful, already and we will suffer with it. Yet when you try to convince majority of us that we could lessen the unavoidable suffering for all & achieve a prosperous society through the free will we possess, it’s not an argument about “how”. It’s a debate as to “who”.
“Who” then will suffer, if not someone who’s being made to in order for my luxury? “Who” will get to live in luxury, if someone is not suffering for it?
Then this leads me to nature vs nurture which drives me NUTS cause why, is noumenon not included in the debate?
Which then reminds me I should take my meds cause I’m supposed to be thinking about video editing, NOT the average Americans addiction to difficulty & the majority accepted idea we must cause additional suffering to lessen our difficulty.

To be honest I don’t ask him about it or discuss with him, he showed me his ring but he does not wear it out & he did confirm for me about 10 years ago he was a member but that was really the end of it. He’s a kind man, does a lot of charity, but doesn’t seem to be involved in deeper ways & certainly nothing of darker intent.
