Bitcoiners understand this better than most:
When you debase the base layer… everything built on top of it degrades.

I confess, this is one of my vices, of all the industrial “chocolate” out there, Tony’s is my go to. Salted caramel.
However, it would be a cool exercise if you could send a photo of the ingredients of said Tony Chocolone bar and let’s do an analysis on it.
Really we aren’t comparing like with like, Cacao v Industrial chocolate are two very different things.
And if it’s just sweetness you wish to have with your pure cacao then there is no harm adding some magic from @nprofile…lrjc for example, honey or maple syrup.
Let’s keep up the dialogue because this feels very educational for all those who have been raised on industrial chocolate which is at a maximum only 20% real cacao. The rest pure junk.

If the coffee and the cacao is direct from a trusted source who do not use chemicals and do not mass produce at the expense of nature, then it would be very fair to say in moderation this is highly medicinal.
However, cacao and coffee together as much as people seem to love it is a lot on the nervous system. These are two very high energy plants. If you are sensitive to caffeine then we would recommend trying a coffee detox, replacing with cacao and see how your mood, energy and sleep changes.

Well something very very special has been moving in my world here in Colombia. I am really good friends with an Indigenous brother, Arhuaco tribe, whose in laws specialise in making panela (raw sugar, real sugar, the good stuff, not the white crack stuff ) - and it is a dream to bring this to market very very soon. It’s very interesting because we have become so accustomed to commercial chocolate which is full of sugar and what not that raw chocolate (Cacao), will be experienced as very bitter, and each has their acquired taste and preferred natural sweetener. It’s a bit of a journey!
I would also advise to try the El Clásico which comes from our dear neighbours and friends in La Sierra Nevada, a naturally much sweeter cacao than La Reserva.

Thanks for the input @nprofile…8am8 - so to clarify your point on tempering and blooming. @nprofile…gh9h 100% cacao is not candy, it is not a chocolate bar, it is 100% medicinal food. And when you do the tempering process, heating and cooling, heating and cooling, you play with the molecular structure of the cacao, heating to higher temperatures reduces the medicinal benefits of the cacao. Yes the blooming can sometimes look not the best aesthetically but to compromise health benefits for a guaranteed finish on the Block is not our game. We will not compromise health over appearance.
For context blooming is not a bad thing, essentially it is a marker that shows the consumer that this cacao has a high fat content. It’s not a bad thing, but I appreciate educationally it is something new to everyone who has grown up on the chocolate bars we know from the stores.

It’s not financially viable to send via the post, postage and import tax is horrific, I don’t know what’s going on between the two countries but it makes trade between the two really difficult. So when you say proper supply chain our version of that is having someone there who semi regularly goes down to the US for personal/ work matters and is prepared to mule a suitcase back up to Canada. Maybe not your definition but this alone could meet quite a lot of the demand bubbling up. We want to bring Canadians the finest cacao too!

Most “chocolate” today has very little in common with real cacao.
Industrial processing strips away much of what makes cacao powerful.
Typical commercial chocolate includes:

• Highly processed cocoa powder

A cup of 100% pure cacao a day, in the 20 gram range is where a lot of health benefits can be gained. These two teaspoons of nibs might not get you there, but something is better than nothing.
If you are a heavy coffee drinker it’s definitely worth doing a little self study, replace one cup of coffee with a cacao and see how that feels in the body. It’s a personal thing.

When I have cacao in my diet I do not crave coffee at all, and when I do not have coffee in my diet my sleep is deep, I wake up feeling very rested.
If you have concerns over your coffee intake and its effects on you then doing a little 7 day cacao replacement test could be a good experiment to see where you are really at.
We love coffee here at Bitcoin Beans, it’s a big part of our journey to where we are now, but for sure there is something worth exploring on an individual level with coffee and sleep. Each other own! Happy exploration! We love
