I’ve been reading some horror posts about how people have received terrible healthcare because they refused to *remove* their masks. Imagine that; someone in a position of power who you’ve gone to for help decides to fuck you over even more because you dared to care about your own health and others.
I wish I could say I was surprised, but as a disabled neurospicy I’ve experienced this kind of shit all my life. I don’t have answers. I wish I did. I just know I’m not gonna unmask for assholes.

I need to figure out how to make my hair kind messy / tousled but not “total disaster”. I’m never very good with hair styling which is why I’ve kept it super short for so long and bought lots of wigs 😂 😬

I’ve got to have a CT scan later to check my ear bones and stuff. I don’t really know what to expect. It won’t be as claustrophobic as an MRI will it?

From experience:
Warm salty water rinse then fresh ginger chewed with good teeth and then placed on the sore one. In a pinch, garlic or clove, or some strong alcohol held on the area. Experiment with hot and cold packs too. If you can take it, paracetamol first 2 hours then ibuprofen for the next 2. Keep alternating and you’ll be continually covered for pain. You might need opiates if it’s really bad though.
I hope it eases and you can get some rest.

Previous house owners seemed to have given up maintaining the garden about 10 to 15 years ago so it was a bit of a wilderness (to put it mildly).
Had some excellent dudes round today cutting the dangerous overgrown trees down to manageable height (and so they can bush out again with regrowth).
This fat kererū was very much enjoying picking bugs off the cut stumps.

Well, that’s an arse. Dropped my backup blood glucose meter into the cat’s water bowl by accident and despite putting it immediately in a bowl of rice it seems to be dead. My second backup meter isn’t reading quite right (4 units off). I have a CGM so it’s annoying rather than dangerous, but bleh. Guess I’ll have to buy a new one.

Excuse me but I need a Gold Star for Adulting.
Took the car into the tyre place on an absolute whim to see if they could fix the dodgy tyre someone messed with, and not only did they pull a nail out of it !! and patch it, they pumped up the others and only charged $30.
Plus, they were lovely, totally cool about me being an awkward Deafie, and did the job in like 10 minutes while I waited.
I’m glad I was brave.

Forced peer association is not socialisation. This is true for children and adults. The social benefits only come from meaningful interactions and positive stimulus. Humans are indeed “social creatures” but only in specific circumstances and groups.
