I used to think like that, too, but I am leaning more and more towards:
All things are ephemeral in the end, and content/users/vibe is more important than tech.
This instance going down is a good example of the first point. I love the theory of Fedi, but I am often annoyed by the reality of it. But it would take a longer post to explain that.

At a company event in Cologne and decided to go to a Spiele-Cafe with three colleagues!
We had a great time playing Brass: Birmingham, although we didn't finish the game unfortunately. Really need to play this one more often!

The dangling smurf is 3d printed and actually magnetised to the ceiling—which is really helpful, so he doesn't break off when horizontal force is applied.
The Icon of Khorne is kitbashed from some bits box, and I spent way too much time green-stuffing the surrounding area to make the hole appear more "natural". But I also just really suck with Green Stuff.

…and the colour scheme is super close to the one I used on the terrain parts previously available (Battlezone Manufactorum), I thought I'd post some older pictures of mine!
Of course, my paint job is not as crisp, but OTOH I did spend time replacing those Machanicum symbols with ones dedicated to real gods 😈

I love this place, as well, but I would really like to the federation to be more seamless. Also with threads.
I think that's what the original Fedi spirit is about: being able to have you own, small community, but allowing everyone to connect with everyone else easily!

It seems similar to "Legends" in #Warhammer40k, i.e. there will be official-inofficial datasheets for a while, but they will quickly become unbalanced, not follow bigger rule changes and thus become unusable—unless you play by older rules entirely, which you also don't want because one of the players likely has a new team that didn't have rules before.

I actually think they could go with fairly stable rules (and for free), and instead create hype around... miniatures!
No, really. Even accepting they want to maximise profits, they don't have to do it via rules/codices. They could do
• more thematic box sets
• limited edition minis that just look different but don't require rule changes
• special add-ons/gear
• ...
Every collector would still buy.

I always use Wahapedia!
The killer feature they have for Killteam is mouse-over tooltips on special words like *rending*.

I am quite excited about it, as well!
Although I do wish they would put out new editions less frequently.
Since I only play a few times per year, I feel like the rules have always changed notably 😐
Conversely, I would appreciate stuff being removed from the game instead of adding new things. I have never played any of the more complicated missions, used Tac Ops or Equipment. The many individual operative sheets and abilities are plenty to keep track of, IMHO 😅
