The technology isn't exciting to hackers. The sats aren't wanted by the artist. The cash modality is always swimming upstream online. My main annoyance with a while back I checked in on it for some months and the discord felt like nothing was happening, and that it was a big tech project with no spirit. SourceCode repos were tumbleweeds. So them at some point they built out this thing which is in the marketing sense decentralized.
Meanwhile the speed and algo layer is all due to some huge hidden compute cost which is being paid by someone/VC. Feels like a trap. I'm checking it out and enjoying it but my key reservation is with hidden cost and ownership. Feels like my persona there is a product.
The nostr response that is like to see, if there is one, is for all the big relays to go paid and let us know and pay the cost of a bulletproof social network.

There's an important distinction to be made between ETFs and other kinds of custody. The ETFs can be traded inside retirement account and not trigger capital gains. This gives the same feel as back when we fantasized that the government wouldn't want their cut of gains.
The nostr equivalent would be fast free service with lots of engagement. Nostr is bulletproof social media just like self-custody is true wealth sovereignty.
Btw I agree a VC funded custodial nostr is the only way to give the ux normies expect.

Why not go the nostr.wine route and require payment? You'll be helping the market with price discovery and enable your operation to scale. It's an essential step for Nostr to mature. If I were you I'd start at what seems high since there's little competition. Say 33k ($30) a month.

After taking a tour of the various social networks I gotta say what I appreciate about Nostr most is that people here are fiercely independent and allergic to having their experience shaped by anyone who is not them.
