I swear I'm starting to think the source of most of the world's ills is the stock market.
"Billionaires" are only that rich in terms of stock valuation. Stock valuation is only valuable because people in the stock business say it is and bankers believe it.

When twitter became a Nazi bar, my wife and I set about looking for a better social media experience. We read up on it. She came to Mastodon, I went to Bluesky. After 2 months, Bluesky was clearly turning into yet another twitter. My wife, on the other hand, was discovering the fediverse. It looked like fun. So I abandoned Bluesky and came over here.
The first months were hard, then I figured out that you really need to follow a LOT of people to make your timeline interesting.

My favorite part was his takedown of the cap on Social Security that only taxes the first $175k of income. If you make a million a year, you pay Social Security on your first paycheck and you are done for the year. That should be in every Democrats' stump speech.
Casar also included a bit that explains why the Dem leadership hates the progressive caucus. He called for an end to serving politicians investing in Wall Street.

Our State representative and State Senator showed up and spoke. Both did well, and our State Senator, Sarah Eckhardt, was a particularly effective speaker. I hope to see her loud and proud on a national stage soon.
Congressman Greg Casar was there and took questions. He tried to encourage people to continue to pressure Congress. He spoke about what it will take to make Democrats effective again. It was good and truthful and hard.

Yesterday I attended a town hall in my extremely gerrymandered Central #Texas congressional district. The empty suit who occupies the seat in Congress, McCaul, didn't show of course. But Texas #Democrats did.
