When twitter became a Nazi bar, my wife and I set about looking for a better social media experience. We read up on it. She came to Mastodon, I went to Bluesky. After 2 months, Bluesky was clearly turning into yet another twitter. My wife, on the other hand, was discovering the fediverse. It looked like fun. So I abandoned Bluesky and came over here.
The first months were hard, then I figured out that you really need to follow a LOT of people to make your timeline interesting.
