I’d take the top one over the bottom any day and still call myself an autonomous free thinking human. It’s only not right if it’s someone else’s dream. If you want the big house and the cars then go live that reality and fuck those who say it’s fake.
Life’s purpose is to create the reality you want. Whatever that is.
I don’t want the farmhouse and the garden. Tried it, not for me. Rather hire a gardener and go drive my nice car.

I tried this approach as I thought it would bring me happiness. Living off the land, not working as much, cutting costs and prioritising work that didn’t offer progress or as much intellectual demand of me.
I felt less purpose, less drive and my family had less freedom because our number of children grew, my wife was unable to work as she cares for our 4 kids (childcare is expensive) and holidays were nonexistent anymore.
We did it for many years, managed to get some government support to help us along and saved what we could in BTC. Eventually we got out of this trap of underperforming and moved to Sydney, into an amazing high end suburb with great public schools, amazing opportunities and daily challenge where I can test myself against other men. We are all so much happier and I cannot wait to keep building my career this year, making more fiat dollars and saving as much as we can in sats so my children and grandchildren have generational wealth.

I just saw an example of female aging in reality.
Met a grandmother and mother waiting for the granddaughter off the plane.
Estimate of ages.
Grandma - 85
Mother - 60
Daughter - 30
Firstly the Grandmother was hunched, petite, and heavily wrinkled. Appeared to be around 5 foot 4 inches.
The mother was standing tall and strong, nice wide jaw and teeth and not too wrinkled. Also not overweight. I’d say no Botox, wealthy and healthy. Fully grey hair and still attractive for her age. Around 5 foot 10 inches.
The daughter was at least 6 foot, definitely taller than me. Strong and lean looking with a beautiful face, very wide jaw and strong straight teeth. Literally twice the size of the diminutive grandmother.
I could see the result of aging, but it was more than that. The mother and daughter were so much more robust and large. I could tell the mother would not be so small in her old age.
Nutrition and lifestyle are improving us. The daughter was more an Amazon and the grandmother looked like she hadn’t ever lifted a weight.
