I last tried it like a year ago or something, my choice was Manjaro (KDE Plasma Edition). I should probably mess around with it more, especially given Windows 11.
Which I can't really avoid due to some soft- and hardware (yay...), but for a laptop for general office work and some web browsing I'd see zero reason to be running Windows at this point.

The last time I messed around with Linux most stuff was super easy, but...
1st: My distro of choice used X11 by default, which apparently doesn't support individual GUI scaling per screen. Which I need for my setup. So I quickly had to dig how to make it use Wayland instead.
2nd: The headphone output on my audio interface isn't the first output. So I needed to find a software piece that lets me route audio playback to different outputs. But for that I first needed to figure out what audio subsystem I was even running on. (Why are there three of them ???)

I believe the different trip currents are mainly due to the common breaker panel RCD protecting many circuits, compared to one integrated into an outlet. (Those do exist here btw, even though they're quite rare.)
When a single device is allowed to have a current flowing through PE up to 3.5 mA (greetings to filters in PSUs) a for example 5 mA limit for an entire appartment worth of circuits would not be very sensible. Of course the currents are usually lower. But actual RCD trip currents also tend to be a bit below the specified current.
The 3.5 mA are the limit for PE current a device with a grounded plug is allowed to have in regular checks of appliances. These checks are mandatory in public and commercial environments in Germany btw, depending on the environment every three months (construction sites) up to two years (offices) for everything mains voltage with a plug.

Oh, the fun when you have multiple appliances with small leak currents that in sum add to enough to trip the RCD...
I'd say RCDs are mainly for protecting people. If you want fire prevention have a look at AFDDs.
Also, I've never heard of such trip time specifications. Common RCDs I've seen tend to trip within 20-25 ms though.

The thing is though, with normalisation in place there is no benefit anymore for a super loud master. If you push your compressor to the limits it'll just get turned down a bunch by streaming services, so you achieve no higher loudness at all. It doesn't matter anymore, you can just master to a solid level without overcompressing everything (and therefore get more dynamics in your song).

See "loudness war". You compress everything more to make the track sound louder compared to others, when the peaks of course can't get any louder. It's something we should be getting past now since streaming services like Spotify (and also Youtube) use some form of normalisation and will actually lower the playback volume of tracks that have too high of a 'loudness'.

Please get an adult...I mean a friend to help you set up electrical stuff. Messing with mains voltage stuff without knowing what you're doing can be very dangerous.
My understanding of your situation is limited because, well, I'm from Germany. Things seem to look a bit different here. But here the default way (for simple lighting circuits at least) is to run a cable with three conductors (live, neutral, PE) from the breaker panel to the switch box, and then one from the switch box to the lamp. Neutral and PE will be just bridged through in the switch box (hello Wago connectors), while the live of the lamp is switched by the switch.

I believe it is more complicated than that, and I hope you can reconsider your in my opinion rather extreme views on the matter.
What is happening down there right now is horrible, but I don't think there's a real good to name at the moment. It is just horrible and sad, no matter how you look at it.
Isreal had every right to defend itself against what was literally a terrorist attack, but equally should have their current strategies questioned heavily. It's also no news the country's government is controversial.
I believe denying either country the right to exist is utterly wrong, both should be able to exist and be reckognized. Unfortunately multiple different actors of multiple different sides seemingly try everything in their power to stop this from ever happening.
