I saw a TED talk on how important deep sleep cycles are for clearing the brain debris. After learning that, I can’t bring myself to drink alcohol which prevents deep sleep cycles. It sort of helped me to quit drinking among other reasons.

So, why #arugula? I don’t know why I crave this, but it’s high in nitrates, which “can boost athletic performance and protect against heart disease.”
I don’t eat meat, so no worries about nitrates forming nitrosamine—a bad carcinogen—in the gut.

You see, this is what the rat poison does—the affected rats can die anywhere. Sometimes they go into some inaccessible areas and stink up the whole block for several weeks, sometimes months. Trust me you don’t want that. Once, our basement smelt lit rotten seafood for months.
Please, never use rat poison! It’s cruel. Besides, without (lab) rats, you wouldn’t have your Rx drugs you need. Please be more tolerant of their existence.

I’ve read that common allergy gets triggered when our allergy tolerance “barrel” is full. So if I can keep my “barrel” as empty as possible, I don’t incessantly sneeze. How? By eating whole food #plantBased vegan diet. In my case, the severe hay fever was caused by dairy. Sometimes when I’m stressed, even soy would affect me. So I walk (exercise) to reduce stress (almost) daily, which keeps my intestines healthy. I love outdoors, and not sneezing is indispensable.😙👌

Veronica serpyllifolia, the thyme-leaved speedwell — I looked it up. The flower is tiny but lovely! I noticed it growing in the corner of my flowerbed last summer, and thought it was an herb.

I love dogs. Most dogs we encounter on the trails are friendly and well behaved. I understand, but wildlife doesn’t. They stay away.
I’ve read some article about water voles in England; the stretch of the nature trail where they mandated the leash on dogs, the animal thrived —or something like that.
So, it’s important to keep your dogs on leash if you want wildlife to thrive in the natural areas.
