I have not seen a lot of stuff from him, but I am suspicious of anyone who:
1.) seems intelligent
2.) but does not seem to understand that Bitcoin (or any another cryptocurrency if somebody is interested in them) is exactly what the people enforcing the rules decide it to be.
And Jiang seems to kind of ignore that point:

2.) creates an atmosphere that the situation is hopeless, and that is exactly what the people running the current system want everyone (who is educated enough to understand the problems) to think.
And also Jiang gets to be interviewed by Tucker, who is suspicious as fuck:
- Tucker’s son works for JD Vance.
- Tucker’s dad worked for the CIA.
- Tucker said that growing up and as an adult he had no idea that his dad was working for the CIA.
- Tucker has given contradictory information about when he found out that his dad worked for the CIA.
- Tucker (without knowing that his dad worked for the CIA) applied for a work in the CIA, but allegedly did not get the job.
- However, Tucker did become on of the most famous journalists on the whole planet. Remembering what kind of forces control the media space (the same forces that control the CIA) and the Operation Mockingbird, it’s a bit suspicious, to put it mildly.
- When it comes to finding real solutions to the problems (Bitcoin, Nostr, freedom tech, real privacy tools), Tucker seems to ignore them or label them as CIA creations. Or then he interviews “a blockchain expert”.
- Tucker is critical of Israel etc., but he never goes to the root cause of the problem or offers real solutions.
- Tucker has spread alien FUD.

I don’t know about that… I think that Bitcoin is not an echo chamber. There is a lot of in fighting and a lot of different opinions in Bitcoin. I am sure that this is not news to you, but If you are in Bitcoin and know about the difference between Bitcoin and crypto, knots vs core, bip110, etc., you can see that there is a lot of in fighting in this group. People don’t agree about anything. Not even about the shape of the planet Earth. And that’s a good thing.
But if you are not in Bitcoin and are a so-called normie, you lump Bitcoin and crypto into the same category and think that it’s one big cult. Vast majority of the no-coiners cannot tell the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum and they think that we are all in one big eco champber / cult.
When it comes to Tom Luongo and many others, I find it very suspicious or weird that they know all the details but cannot see the ‘big picture’. All these dudes are just going through all the nitty gritty details, worried about the rise of a new Hitler, and totally missing the big picture and the solution to this problem.

This is an interesting one, and from so many different angles.
Most toothbrushes are made of plastic or something like that. It should not sound like a crazy idea that one should be quite careful about not literally eating plastic… But when you brush your teeth, you definitely get some of that bad stuff into your system.

Good for him, but Kent, Thomas Massie etc. only give false hope to the political system. Unintentionally or intentionally, they make it look like it matters who you vote for.
There is no chance of changing the system from inside. If they want to restore the kind of lifestyle that the Founding Fathers envisioned, they could push Bitcoin adoption as a peer-to-peer cash, Nostr, and privacy & freedom tech. For whatever reason, really few politicians do that.

I don’t know about the numbers, but I feel that Nostr is a natural fit for people with a sovereignty mindset. Many people don’t simply value privacy (“I have nothing to hide”) and self-ownership (“what if I lose my password?”).
If the vast majority of Bitcoiners (people who are running nodes etc.) are using Twitter, Facebook, etc., I don’t think it’s surprising that there are not that many of us here.
I have not been using Nostr that long, but I like it. I don’t use traditional social media, and I cannot even consider using it anymore.
I see it like this:
We will have a lot more people, who wake up and start embracing Bitcoin, Nostr, and other freedom / privacy tools.
But, unfortunately, we will also have a lot more people, who get totally addicted to their TikTok accounts and other shit.

I should have been more precise. I did not mean that people in this thread have it backwards.
I meant that generally speaking people have it backwards. They are looking at Israel as the root cause of the problem, when we have had this same problem long before Israel was created.
If they simply looked at how money is created, then they would see that the reason the money is so incredibly corrupted is the same reason why the state of Israel exists in the first place.
But when people think that the root cause of the problem is Israel, they end us missing what is happening globally.
We have a one world government. We do not have any democratic countries. And there are a lot of people, who know it perfectly well but they are LARPing as freedom fighters who spread democracy. In reality, they are just spreading the same system of control (technocracy).
That is why I feel that the best approach is to forget what people say that they are trying to do and simply see what is the end result of their actions.

I would say that we are pretty f@cking far away from that. But we will get there when we stay vigilant and keep working.

Michael Saylor is the master of persuasion. He moves the goalposts all the time. Little by little. Somehow Saylor managed to become the number 1 hero to many Bitcoiners WITHOUT ever embracing the idea of peer-to-peer cash.
Satoshi probably knew that this kind of dudes would appear, so he decided to start the white paper with the following words:
“A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.”
It seems it was not clear enough. Perhaps Satoshi should have written the keywords with ALL CAPS, so that when people like Saylor come to the scene and start talking about “digital property” or “digital Manhattan”, then Bitcoiners would have just asked:
“What the fuck dude?”
Just think about this:
Saylor successfully branded himself as the most famous Bitcoin maximalist without EVER embracing the idea of peer-to-peer cash. But at least in the very beginning he had sayings, such as “there is no second best”.
Now (just a couple of years later) Saylor has transformed into a total shitcoiner, who is excited about an imaginary Katy Perry token, existing shitcoins, crypto economy, digital assets, digital credit, et cetera.
If Saylor had talked like this when he first came to the scene, he would have had as much respect as Raoul Pal and the Bankless dudes have in the Bitcoin community.
But, thanks to the fact that he has moved the goalposts little by little, Saylor is STILL the most famous “Bitcoiner”. How the hell did he (they) do it? I cannot believe that Saylor came to the Bitcoin scene with good intentions.

A couple of months ago I heard about a friend’s father who was dying in a hospital without visitors, because “they did not want the virus to spread”.
I am sure that there are many viruses, but I don’t even know which virus they are talking about right now. Anyway, my friend accepted this as a reason. Kind of crazy.
Many people just learned the new normal. Ah, I almost forgot to add. My friend works in a bank.

Thomas Massie looks pretty much like the only politician with a functioning brain, but I think that he is in a totally hopeless situation.
I don’t think he has any chance of changing the system from inside. If he wants to end the FED and restore the kind of lifestyle that the Founding Fathers envisioned, he could push Bitcoin adoption as a peer-to-peer cash, Nostr, and privacy & freedom tech.
I have not been paying attention to the politicians recently, but my understanding is that he is not doing it. Not sure why not.
Considering the fact that the US is run by real psychopaths, it seems that they do not consider Massie a threat. Not saying that he is compromised, but I don’t think that we can exclude that option either. He is alive, which is suspicious. And he has kids so he can be blackmailed.

It's a really difficult question... I think that there were two kind of “OG’s”:
1.) Real cypherpunks who were worried about the fiat tyranny and working / hoping for something like Bitcoin to emerge.
2.) People, who were worried that something like Bitcoin would emerge. Many of these people being agents of the three letter agencies.
So, if you belonged to the latter group, you might understand Bitcoin really well, sell your Bitcoin back to the fiat system and talk all kind of nonsense about Bitcoin.

I think that the situation is more or less like this:
The last independent country lost its independence in 1913. So, “the leader of the free world” has been captured for more than a hundred years.
I believe that we have had pretty much one world government since 1913, and now they are trying to push as into a global technocracy.
Thankfully, we have Bitcoin, Nostr, and freedom / privacy tech. So, it’s not going to be that simple to force the whole humanity to live under tyrannical one world government.
