I like the spirit of that. If Nayib Bukele was using Nostr, I would tag him. Here’s what “The Bitcoin president” said recently:

“Sure, people can walk down the street safely at any time of the day, even 3:00 AM down a dark alley. And they will be fine. That is a real achievement. But that is just security. It's not law and order. Law and order requires other changes, on other levels we have yet to reach. Eliminating corruption, for example.”

“It's one thing not to get mugged in the street. It's something else to be free from corruption, and to be free from fraud. I might not get mugged on the street, but I can still be scammed. Or there to be no more contraband.”

“People finally understood that our country has moved from just eliminating violent crime, to a stage in which we'll eliminate all crimes. There is still petty theft. There is still contraband. There is corruption. There are scams. There is environmental contamination, done by individuals and companies.”

“We are moving into a new stage in which our country must not just build the safest country; we are already the safest in the hemisphere. We must be the country with the most respect for law and order in this hemisphere. And in the future, one of the countries with the greatest respect for law and order in the world.”

What’s your opinion on Bukele?

When I see what he is up to nowadays (banning haircuts etc.), he does remind me of this Ayn Rand quote:

Don't get me wrong. I do like the fact that Bukele has called out the fiat scam, but every day he looks more and more like controlled opposition.
