Does Nostr provide info on which event triggered the mute? You can mute directly from the note, so figuring out which exact note made someone mute you could be useful for some users.

Trying to up @npub1tca…09hn 's weekly digest a notch by adding comparison of current Bitcoin and Lightning stats vs years ago.
Can anyone suggest where I can download historical data on number of Bitcoin and LN nodes, LN capacity and so on? All I managed to find so far is data by Glassnode and it is only available with a $999 subscription 🤡

It's kinda crazy to even say it out loud, but making such a joke is almost impossible today on traditional social media.
One can not simply create a new account without having a phone number, not connected to their ID. It's just too much hassle. End of the day, such restrictions stifle creativity.

I just set up an MCP server to allow natural language queries to @npub1tca…09hn database. Works well, but I fail to get the nostr bot to fetch the p tag - whenever someone tags it - in order to process the request and reply.
Using NDK.
Anyone can suggest where i can read up on how to monitor nostr relays for a mention?

Muun positions itself as a lightning wallet (or at least it used to), while it is an onchain wallet that utilizes submarine swaps. This means unpredictable fees, especially when onchain activity rises. Tons of complaints from the users of sending a few sats and getting charged thousands of sats. End of the day they blame Lightning for being inefficient.

I use Alby Cloud since day one. I’d love to self host, but I’m a nomad, so I’d rather pay for your service and contribute to development of Alby than pay some VPS provider. Alby Cloud experience has always been smooth. It’s the first time I’ve received a message like this, though I used to keep hub untouched for months. I’m guessing it’s some update you rolled out that locked me out.

I was working on an easy way to integrate Lightning donations into⁣⁤ @npub1tca…09hn ⁤⁣website and I noticed a funny thing:
I asked Claude via Cursor to draft a simple dial pad for visitors to input the amount of sats they'd like to donate, and it spit out a decent, functional modal, but as I entered the amount to test functionality, I noticed it would call the API and get a 1000x invoice of what I requested.
I looked at the code and saw that apparently Claude believes mBTC (not sats) is the standard.
I gave it a proper lecture on how things really are, and it fixed its mistake...
Nevertheless, I am still concerned about the future of sound money 😅

The Canadian government to cull 400 ostriches
A federal court has dismissed a lawsuit by Universal Ostrich Farms, whose owners, Karen Espersen and Dave Bilinsky, have been trying to save the lives of their ostriches since December.
Several of their birds fell ill with avian flu, after which the food inspection agency ordered all the inhabitants of the farm to be killed.
Last year, 69 ostriches died on the farm, which is 15% of the population. Two carcasses were tested for bird flu, and the result was positive.

Релей не пользовался популярностью, поэтому я перестал его оплачивать. Сейчас кстати лучше подкован в запуске FOSS приложений. Так что может и перезапущу. Как минимум вернуть возможность комментировать на 21 идее.

Oh, yes - almost forgot. Long form posts also let you edit them, so if you mess some formatting up or do a typo (which is super easy with such huge blobs of info), you can fix this without flooding readers feed. Kind 1 events are set in stone. This was a huge thing for me personally.

Hey Nomishka, thanks for yet another quality recap, you’re doing huge work. I know how much effort this takes, cause I tried this myself back in the day but couldn’t continue as it is super time consuming.
That said I wanna share my thoughts on your approach to posting.
I see you use nostrudel for posting. Nostrudel displays kind 1 posts like yours with multiple embedding just fine. Nostur for iOS and a few more clients do presents them well too.
But
1. Many nostriches use Primal or Damus, which drop the embeddings and links to the bottom of the post. They treat kind 1 events like if they were “tweets” in their original form - short notes, not long ones - so they do not format them well at all (see screenshots below)
2. Many (including myself) prefer having the daily “routine” feed to consist of short kind 1 events. And if I want to read something in more detail, I’d go to a long form post platform.
I wonder if you considered platforms like Yakihonne or Habla.news for posting Nostr recaps as a kind 30023 event (Medium/Substack type posts that support formatting, headers, hyperlinks, etc) and then making a short announcement as a kind 1 post linking to the longer article?
This would greatly improve your readers experience and make your recaps much more visually appealing and pleasant to read.
