I wonder if that nostu.be url could be put in a RSS feed? Then it could we watched and Boosted in PC 2.0 apps.
Might have to add it to my super secret test feed to see but my hunch is yes since @nprofile…zryl is using satellite.earth for there music.

This works by adding a prefix to the URL for your tracks so if you see something like "https://op3.dev/e/" in the feed thats normal.

I just added support for op3.dev to the site that allows you to get download numbers and other stats. Just click the toggle for it in the Album Info section to enable it when building your RSS feed.

I got Claude working on a prototype right now. It's over confident when I vibecode on my phone so I'll have to have it double check it's work when I get how but the idea is have a toggle like the explicit toggle that turns the OP3 stuff on and off.
Toggle it one and when you make a feed it adds the prefix to your url in your feed. Then you simply update the feed where ever it's host like you would any other changes.

Fixed a bug last night that was causing the site to overwrite feeds that were hosted with me.
I dont host any media but will host your RSS to help you on your self-hosting journey but ALWAYS SAVE A COPY OF THE XML FILE!!
Luckily the user that was affected had a copy saved so we were able to restore it without any issue.
To help prevent me messing up people's feeds in the future I now save a copy of the xml file that's hosted with me but that's more for me to be able to fix these problems myself and as a backup since this site is very new still.

MSP 2.0 was used to make this feed and is in the splits for %1 so when Silvie Boosted 2,222 sats I got 22 sats. Pretty cool.

MSP 2.0 now lets you add your npub to your RSS feed via the <podcast:txt> tag. This tag allows you to add info to a RSS feed that is either for reference or if something doesn't have a formal tag.

I'll have to think about it some because each feed has to reference each other. Maybe a page where you enter the info needed for both instead of switching back and forth between the Album and Publisher pages?
My first thought would be make the album, submit it to podcastindex, build the publisher feed, submit that to the index then add the publisher feed to the album and update it in the index.
Or you just build both feeds and YOLO submit both to the index at the same time.
I'll have to ask around if it matters if you submit one before the other.

Think we could do it all in one shot? Publisher feeds are still not really used in the selfhosted word so it's an afterthought but you seem to be onboard with them so maybe I'll see if some steps can be removed if you want to do both at once. 🤔

We need to build the tools before we can make them easier but easier usually means giving up some control.
My goal is to make the best RSS music feed generator for people to use while trying out some other ideas along the way.
We're going to break a lot of stuff along the way but that's half the fun and this stuff doesn't build itself.

Fixed a bug in the Publisher Feeds that was causing some apps to not pick them up.
You can also make video RSS feeds now that are basically the same as a music feed but its marked as video in the feed and the UI is tuned for it.

Reminder to ALWAYS save your .xml file for your RSS feeds. I'm doing a lot of testing that requires me to delete my test feeds from the MSP hosted but the import .xml always brings your stuff back because that the source of trust for all of the RSS stuff.

Wavlake made the original one and the others just pull in that data and display it. The other links were just to show it across other apps.

RSS has publisher feeds that is one feed that list all of your feeds. Wavlake does these and thats why other RSS based apps can make you cool pages. Your host (wavlake) handles all of these feeds for you and that gets submitted to podcastindex so other apps can use this info.
How do different RSS host and Nostr all get tied together? I dont know but seeing new stuff being built is very exciting.

For RSS normally you just host everything in one place so that ties all this together under your account there.

When you make a RSS feed it needs added to the podcastindex and the site now lets you do that instead of having to go to the podcastindex.org site directly to add it.
Also if you update your feed in anyway like adding tracks then you can also let the podcastindex know you made the change so it updates quicker there.
This is to make things quicker and easier for you the user. 😎

MSP 2.0 now lets you submit or update your RSS feed in podcastindex.org. You no longer have to go to the podcastindex.org site to do it so if your hosting your feed yourself just past in the URL and hit submit or if the feed is hosted on MSP it will auto-submit it or any updates when you upload it to MSP.
You are also given the link to the feed on PI. Something like this https://podcastindex.org/podcast/7642183
*when you submit a feed for the first time it can take several minutes to show up in the index but once the page loads with it then your good to go.

Made some updates to the site thanks to recommendations from @npub12x5…egp4 and @npub12zn…6yg6.
The add recipient button is now a drop-down that has Blank, MSP 2.0 and podcastindex.org listed in-case you want to add either as a split.

When you paste the URL for your track I now fetch the tracks length and show a preview player so you can double check that its the right track. I also removed the file size box since its harder to fetch and might now be needed. (defaults to 33 for anyone checking the feeds.

The original MSP had a split for itself automatically added and I'm going to add the option also. I didn't do it yet because I didn't want to overwhelm the user but the splits are so cool and a good way to get a few sats for running a free service. All voluntary of course.
Adding PI is also a good idea. This will all just be a list you can pick from that adds the info so you don't have to look it up.

The fountain issue is just because they have it cached still. Each app handles all of this differently when it comes to pulling and storing the info.
When you reupload just use a new one. I only get hesitant with the GUID because I don't want to break any on the feeds for the shows that played you music but that wasn't played to it's fine.

Yeah xml files and blossom servers don't mix. Edit a file and it changes the hash in the url which breaks how rss and podcasting works.
My solution is to just give users a static url that points to the latest blossom url.

I have an option to host the XML file for people which just live on vercel where the site is already hosted, I just wish I didn't have to.
Users pay for satellite.earth to host the their media files but they still need another server seems dumb imo.

MSP 2.0 now supports Nostr Music Playlist. Anything that uses the NIPs on nostrhub.io I'm calling Nostr Music btw.
