I straight up lied to someone today about a serious issue, and I feel like a wretch.

INKTOBER 2026 DAY 15: HOORAY
21ST CENTURY PIRATE'S SHANTY
Curse not our silicon which aids
our lightning fast, clandestine trades
for justice reigns upon this sea
with every act of piracy.
We steal no gold from sinking ships
nor seek but rescue of the chips
neglected by such greedy sire
whose oversight will not expire.
We rescue long forgotten tales
repugnant (for their lower sales)
to barons resting on their thrones
composed of long abandoned bones.
So come and sit with us a spell
and listen to the yarns we tell
and play a game or two to see
the virtues of our piracy.

INKTOBER 2026 DAY 13: FLIMSY
RAPIER RHYME
This rapier's blade appears but needle's point
against the mighty reavers' strength and steel
but flimsy piercings' bleeding weaken joints
and poignant papercuts cause skin to peel.

NOVICE GAMBLER
You toss in golden piece to heal the loss
bemoaned this hungry night when dealer's boss.
But cards unread will leave your bowels bare
and fill your mind with novice gambler's care.

INKTOBER 2026 DAY 11: RESCUE
TOGETHER, WE RIDE
Come awake, princess dear!
Hold me fast for I fear
this great fortress is near
its destruction. Outside
heed the storm; grab your cloak!
Get your ring so the folk
whom we meet won't revoke
their respect for your hide!
The great horde made their breach
listen now! Hear them each
call the battlecry reach
for my hand, hold my side
as together we ride!

INKTOBER 2026 DAY 7: PANIC
What hells
bore shields for spells
in this forsaken room
as lamia's sultry hissing tells
his doom.
What dwells
within this room--
this cthonic, granite tomb--
where subtle sultry hissing spells
man's doom?!
[Another twofer today; couldn't decide which one to include. I wanted to write in a shorter form for the sake of the prompt, and I need to practice my cinquintilla form.]

INKTOBER2026 DAY 5: SMACK
SPANKING LIMMERICK
How long the jiggle lasts upon my mate
who longs for rougher, harder touch of late.
Her cheeks behind (which love to grind)
don't seem to mind when my hands find
their prints upon such skin so passionate.

INKTOBER 2026 DAY 4: CACTUS
ON KEEPING A CAT
She slumbers hours into a dreamy past
awakened but to stretch her legs and claws
before she curls again and tucks her paws
beneath her fuzzy chest. Some nights, aghast,
she gazes into voids in corners passed
without a thought before. She ponders flaws
in food she crunches in her jagged jaws
and lolls bored by the toys she has amassed.
This fuzzy cactus hails my late return
by sniffing at my hand and smearing it
with oil before descending from her stern
and lofty tower to beg for food with fit
and caterwaul. But when she nestles near
it warms my heart to quell her every fear.
