So, I asked my in-laws not to get me anything for Christmas. I'm lucky to have enough stuff already, and I didn't want to put them to any trouble hunting around for the kind of obscure things I'm into. Not only did they respect my wishes, but I also received an e-card telling me they'd donated to The Bike Project. The charity collects secondhand bikes, refurbishes them and gives them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. Result! https://thebikeproject.co.uk #biketooter #cycling #bicycle

And, as a result: “Pollution levels along Boulevard de Sébastopol are reported to be about 40 per cent lower than they were in 2011, a decline attributed in large part to reduced car traffic and the normalization of cycling for everyday trips.” #biketooter #cycling #paris

I always love the pattern of sand ripples, particularly walking over them barefoot.

It’s been the perfect weather for this all week. The next high peaks are around 50 miles away so there’s a real feeling of being marooned on an island.
