To be fair. I’m a life-long NYer and even though I love this city and appreciate the toughness that comes with being raise here… I don’t want to raise my kids in this city because of the state it’s in right now with drugs and crime. Too much noise and chaos day to day.
China isn’t that radical, they just enforce their existing laws, so anyone who F’s around… is kept separate from those who participate constructively in society.
They have social services for those that fall through the cracks, to get them back on track. In those welfare programs are more effective than the ones we have.
There are arbitration courts for discrepancies…
But I feel safer in China than I do in in NYC in 2026.
As a new parent, that’s what colors my perspective.

Zoom out… Coinkite is forever a part of the Bitcoin story, as it was deeply part of the community.
That’s what makes this breach of trust so difficult, it’s this cycle’s most painful point, IMO
It feels different than Celsius, BlockFi, Mt Gox, FTX, or any other scandal.
You have to trust the system(s) you use to protect your corn, so make necessary changes, but the airgapped blackberry wallet will always remain in my drawer bc it’s objectively cool. You don’t need to generate a seed phrase on a cold card. You can import a seed phrase and use as a normal wallet or part of a multisig
While this is a huge breach of trust, I don’t believe it was a result of malice
