3 months on & the Green Party has grown to 216k members. Not due to corporate funding, polluters or pandering to the racist press, but folk determined to put Hope back on the ballot box.

Scottish Green Party has also benefited with their own membership reaching over 8,200!
These are just numbers we can count right now, whether it’s new campaigners, new councillors, members or just those who will turn up on polling day because they feel compelled to. Those in power are terrified: the establishment, the media, the landlords, polluters, those who vandalised our country’s assets for their gain will do everything they can to fight the power of the people.

Green Party (of England & Wales) membership stood at around 68,000 when @npub1qag…xqrq became leader & in not even 3 months, the party’s membership has increased by over 100,000 people!
That is not just a monumental shift, we are seeing the first signs of a literal restructuring of #UK politics.
The people yearn for compassionate and sensible #politics, not pandering to the rich and racist.

Most of the Scottish Parliament’s achievements are to do with mitigating one of the many harms inflicted by Westminster (nationalising railways, free tuition, UC biweekly, Social Security Scotland, EMA for students, NHS free at point of need including prescriptions) just imagine what an independent Scotland could achieve if it was not held back by London’s parliament.

I think bringing it in phases has been extremely beneficial. By letting both young & older folk have free journeys it’s helped to shape habits and also perception of the general public who don’t receive free bus travel. The value of these services on a larger scale are being appreciated, it should be free for all and we need to push for this further with better frequency and night busses.

Rest in Peace baby.
Took him to vets only for them to operate and say it wouldn’t be fair to resuscitate him, forced to say goodbye to his body after the procedure, I can’t help but wish I held him tighter and longer before going in.
I didn’t know that was goodbye, I’m so sorry, you didn’t deserve that at all. I hope we are reunited soon, I love you so much.

How much is #ScotGov allowed to increase income #tax by? I believe that if @npub1nzf…lckw were still in government then they’d push to increase devolved tax rates even further.
Scotland’s highest tax bracket is 48% for earnings above 125k. It hasn’t always been this way though, before Thatcher, the highest tax bracket was 80%. The rich paid a higher share of taxes and they have only gotten richer since then, we need fair taxes, not #Austerity. #Greens #Scotpol #Scotland #ukpolitics #ukpol

albeit late and not as progressive as Wales (where they can quadruple the council tax rate for these properties), Scottish Govt has allowed councils as of April of this year to double the council tax of 2nd/vacant homes.
Unfortunately, Falkirk, North Ayrshire & Glasgow City are the only ones that have decided to not increase it, I hope that changes with pressure.
