I should add that stablekraft.app matches on artists name so if the publisher feeds have the same artists name they will show up on the same page. In longy's case the names are different so he has 2 publisher pages on SK. Longy and Longy-Everything

Yes and no, Blossom works for hosting the raw audio/video files but you can't really use it for the RSS feed itself because that needs to be a static URL and with Blossom if you make a change to the RSS feed (say you add a new episode) it changes the URL of the feed and breaks things.

So taking Prosperous Soul as an example they have tracks hosted in 3 different places with 3 different publisher feeds. It's only 27 unique tracks but that turns in 51 tracks across all 3 feeds.
What I did on stablekraft.app was list each publisher feed separately since each place might have different tracks and even the same track will have different "Value Blocks" and maybe even different metadata.
So what should be a clean page with just the tracks listed for your enjoyment turns in to a giant list of duplicates.
It's my app so I get to choose what I show but removing the dups means I have to pick one version over the other. For apps that are also host they can just show what they host since that makes sense for them.
I'll have to think about this more but having to hand curate each publisher page isn't something I want to do so I think I'm leaving it like this for now since it doesn't affect many artist.

Correct. @npub1c39…2lhm is having this issue with Longy right now which is what started this convo.
Longy has a Wavlake and Self Hosted publisher feed now.
Could all of this be combined somehow? Maybe but if you have the same music in 2 places that also gets confusing if they are combined b/c then you would have duplicate items unless you filter out the duplicates but which ones get filtered out?

Your artist page in Fountain (linked below) is based on the publisher feed you have from wavlake. That profile will only show wavlake releases since they are the ones that made that feed.
Making a new publisher feed anywhere else will make you a new profile since that's a different feed in a different place.

I gotta think about this a bit but you made the xml file in MSP 2.0 and then added that to satellite.earth?
This issue with satellite.earth is that it hashes the file so when you upload the updated xml file there it with be a different file name.
This is what you added to PI right?

Normally you just update the xml and upload the new version to the server and since it's the same file name PI just looks in the same spot and sees that you made changes.
When you upload the updated xml with more tracks to satellite.earth I think that file name will change so PI will still be looking at the old file.
This isn't a satellite.earth issues it's a Nostr hosting issue in general.
It's super complicated but the file is signed with your Nostr keys when you upload and that's why the file name has a bunch of random numbers in it. You change the file in anyway and it changes those numbers when you sign it because it's a different file even though it's just a changed version to the original.
RSS feeds need to have static urls to point to and the info changing each time you update the file is an issue. One we can solve but we need to know what needs fixed and you doing this helps a lot actually.
You have a track up and it's working which is great so the hard part is over and we just need to see what happens when you add a new song and go from there.
MSP 2.0 should save the info locally but if not just click import and use the xml you saved from before I hope 😁. MSP 2.0 isn't designed to save anything long term so don't rely on it for that. It's a creation and editing tool and also days old. 🤪

Building our own stuff also allows us to work on stuff the bigger apps aren't or don't have time to.
Like the wallets switching during a live music show that SirLibre added to v4vmusic. It's such a key part to the live music shows because it allows the artists to get paid while you're listening live. Only other apps that support it are PodcastGuru and Curiocaster.
Music playlist also. It's been in the PC 2.0 spec forever but some have to work on it and we are to help flush out these ideas and give other apps stuff to also build off of.
I'm also experimenting with a lot of Nostr stuff to flush out ideas and see what works and what doesn't.
That podcasting stuff has been solved imo and the apps are killer but now music needs some love and that's what we're doing. It's also to build out tools so the V4V music shows have more great music to play so this all grows.
It's really a beautiful process building on open specs and protocols where everyone shares ideas and everyone benefits.
Probably why a lot of us have been doing this PC 2.0 thing for 5 years now.

Every time that comes up people just say "don't keep much money in these wallets" and my question is where do you keep your funds for lightning then?
