I'm probably going to have to do it myself to figure out at least some of what's going on.
Yeah, I'm going to have to get myself a sheet of paper (maybe several) to see what the values are. Or... Maybe do the construction somehow in something like Inkscape.
The starting quarter arc, seems to be just there for construction purposes. It may have "acceptable values" but it might not be all that important what that radius is. I might play in Inkscape for a bit. Not now though.

Only barely reading this... And um, yeah... How does someone decide that they are going to sue someone for defamation, when the disputed claims are... "Guy was being a jerk, we feel it important to tell you this..." Statements of opinion, can't really be brought as the *reason* in such cases (anywhere I have the vaguest idea about the law). They may be part of the argument around it... Thanks for sharing, this is a fun read...

I believe I've got books from them. In Canada, I'll order from pretty much "anywhere else" than the US, even if there's a significant price difference. $10+5% of book is probably what I'm *likely* going to have to add to the US price. No idea why.

I personally wouldn't trust without a lot more positive identification. You could consider "test a tiny bit..." but if it's not good, a tiny bit can be enough that you're not at all happy (though a small enough bit, probably just not happy, no real serious consequences). Some mushrooms, are actually recommended you do that anyway no matter how well you've identified them.

I find that some of the bots are as good (and in some ways better) than some of the "real people." There's two people who I've seen posting here (both pretty big names), but even digging, never saw any kind of interaction with them (maybe some others as well). You *think* these "real people" are paying some level of attention, you don't expect that of a bot.

It wasn't really even close to that. But one I know and really miss seeing in *this* timeline kind of sucks. But another instance, I got blocked, because... Well I criticized the blind use of block lists, and tried to discuss what can be problematic about that.
That instance has had other cases where blocks have been personal, and knocking connections blindly.

mastodon.social wasn't *that* bad. It was just historically that size of instance, it's *very* difficult to have good moderation. And stuff was taking more than 90 days for some stuff.
I gave it that kind of time, because being a big instance, it meant that it was harder to justify blocking the instance.

Oh, I meant my instance is basically a single user instance. And blocked at the instance level.
There *may* be reason to reverse that, but it was based on activity that hit my instance, not just political.

Some of the conspiracy theories I've run into are, "they are doing this..." which is a true thing, but the attribution to malice, and that they are "conspiring" is what is questionable.
Just this last week, "There's a global conspiracy to install more bike lanes..."
No, it's not a conspiracy. It's out in the open, they very much (if you want) make it so you can contribute the the discussion...

Thank you... Well done a 2 hour video is short. Poorly done... a 5 minute video is long. I know who Andrew Tate is (sort of) but I don't know where he came from. or really recognize him. Jordan Peterson, never really a great guy, but not really problematic at the beginning. Alex Jones, I think he may have been fun, but I never recall it being something that was really, "good conspiracies".

Yeah, I'm not surprised that he wasn't really as good as he looked in some ways. But his public face was pretty reasonable. Though I think some of the people I've seen, have gone from, "companies are conspiring," to "the government is conspiring." Neither are good, but companies are working pretty hard to "maximise profit" which really seems like, "deliberately causing harm."

I have blocked two instances (reports sent to both) because of lolicon/shotacon. No idea why the content is showing up here (I kind of don't want to find out). It *could* be that it was getting boosted... There's no follow relationships either direction.
I'm *not* mentioning the instances, but the reason I spotted them, was because of the trending tags. I *can* see it showing up, because someone is *discussing* it. So the tags are useful.

I'm honestly still (and probably will continue to be for weeks if not indefinitely) processing the first message. It kind of hit me, "that can't be a good thing," but I wasn't OK with expressing that. I still have no idea. I do know that Mastodon does need a lot of things changed, but mostly that just doesn't happen.
