Only barely reading this... And um, yeah... How does someone decide that they are going to sue someone for defamation, when the disputed claims are... "Guy was being a jerk, we feel it important to tell you this..." Statements of opinion, can't really be brought as the *reason* in such cases (anywhere I have the vaguest idea about the law). They may be part of the argument around it... Thanks for sharing, this is a fun read...
