People keep assuming for all of these laws that it's a lack of technical knowledge on the part of politicians that cause these laws to happen.
It's not that. That's true, sure, but it's unrelated.
It's that they don't care.
People keep assuming the VPN bans or "you still have to verify age of Utah citizens even behind a VPN" solely come about based on a lack of knowledge but the real point is establishing consequences to prevent the things that can't fight it from existing to begin.
They'll decline to go after the porn websites they as lawmakers use themselves, but will instead hit up independent things that can't afford to fight back and will just close when contacted -- places like independent social media, small websites providing information to queer youth, and other small sexual health websites.

Of note folks, if you see the thing about "Telegram 9.8 flaw!!!" going around:
- There is _no_ confirmation of this yet, it's only listed as an "upcoming" vuln without assigned page on ZDI's site.
- Media/stickers/calls/etc are _not_ confirmed mechanisms at all, and may have nothing to do with it.
- We don't even know that it's an RCE, that's just an assumption that some other websites have run with.
- Other "9.8 CVSS" 'vunlerabilities' have been reported in the past for other software that were...not. This AI slop one against curl (https://hackerone.com/reports/3340109) comes to mind.
It just says the vendor is Telegram, and Telegram has numerous services. For all we know this could be related to their blockchain, their payment platforms, or a vulnerability allowing malicious takeover of someone else's bot. There is zero information, as the researcher themself has said nothing on what it is so far.
(If any part of this is no longer true please let me know with verified info and I will edit the post to remove those.)

Folks who want to use #Meshtastic devices to communicate at protests?
You probably should use a dedicated one that's only for these events and keep it turned off when not at the protest itself.
The standard firmware has hardware IDs broadcast -- it's why wiping one without restoring the old keys means your friends need to delete you from their NodeDB for a key refresh.
And that's a way to find you later.

In a horrid, twisted way, the sum is slightly better than either part.
The frosting is necessary to offset the intense blandness, somehow being lighter than the cookie. How?
The cookie's blandness tempers the sweetness of the frosting.

And underneath lies the blandest, stodgiest sugar cookie I have ever tasted. Bit some without the frosting to taste it proper.
It's moist, but way too thick. And the taste is not actually exaggerating to say "cardboard". It's like someone forgot even imitation vanilla.

Seriously why does it need so much frosting? Frosted cookies can be good but every cookie in that box had frosting in amounts I can only imagine is a quality cover. It's like over-frosting a thick cookie cake.
Also it's not good, like a meh cream cheese frosting.

I imagine most of these are firewall/edge filtering to reject all connection requests from Threads to ensure Threads does not obtain any information from their instance.
Meta does not have a particularly great track record of deleting records on their part with their other services. It's hypocritical of them to be throwing a fit that other instances just refuse to connect to them altogether as a result of their historic behavior, especially with no guarantees Meta won't siphon the instance data without being blocked at the network level.

reminds me of a grilled Thai inspired sandwich a friend taught me: PB on the inside of one slice (not sweet), and orange marmalade in the inside of the other. Between, add curry powder, Sriracha, and fresh basil, either from a tube or chiffoned. Then mayo the outside of it and griddle! Extremely good.
