When I was at Navy, I think in 2005, we wanted to declare an Email Free Day. If you wanted to engage with someone in a non-operational context, you had to pick up the phone or walk over to their desk. Just for one day, get people thinking about what channels they use to communicate and how effective they are. Captain didn’t want to give up email for even a day, so it didn’t happen
