from my view it’s backwards, the filtering will always happen with relay policy.
tightening protocol parameters, moving the boundary envelopes simplifies the types of transactions allowed.
people using crazy “op_if 1 = 0 then (arb data) is just crazy to me.
simply saying, the way the protocol was in 23 is better for the network than it is now, doesn’t compel me to think it’s some grave mistake.
if it became changing the protocol consensus every month, then i would not support that because that would be more like trying to “filter”
and i’ve been working through these issues with everyone else for over a year. we can only do what we think serves us best.
