With legacy we win simplicity of consensus rules. Filters are a game of whackamole and jpegs, ordinals, and runes have already adapted to these. Playing their game is a drain on our ability to make meaningful and thought out upgrades as we resort to reactivity instead.

Run what you want on your node. Just be prepared for how you're going to handle it when it likely splits in 3 weeks. And of course mind the replay attacks. It's probably fine for most people, but if you run Lightning on your node I'd personally be looking at probably reopening channels after the split just to avoid the risk of any funny business with cleverly crafted transactions...
