My issue is I want to enable automatic update, with logging. However, I want the logging to be in its own file, and a new file for each day. Old logs will be removed to make way for new logs (keeping old logs for no more than a week). The system should also clean house, that includes removing old revisions too.
The logs generate. The system claims it updates. But I don't see a new revision added to the boot menu. Furthermore, I do not see old revisions removed either.
