yes and incarceration is one of the main "violences" that only the
state is allowed to use. I'm waking up to the abolition concept in the US.
It used to surprise me that abolition (which I think of as slavery related)
is mostly incarceration related. Now it starts to make sense.
It's similar to how people think police protect them, but that
was never the main intention. Prisons are to scare you into complying
to the demands of the state, even and especially when it isn't logical.
(Like many homeless have nowhere to go.)
