2/ I read an article written by a runner who lived in Alaska. He said that whenever a person begins running on snow, they need to start over, as if they have not run before-- that is, low mileage at first, building up to higher mileage. He was an avid runner living year-'round in Alaska nand found that once the snow first began to accumulate in the fall, he had to scale his running distance way back until his muscles adapted to the unstable surface.
