wow! Bear! Cool! I have only had two bear encounters on the trail- one my bear bells had fallen off my waist band and as I looked around for them, a bear crossed the trail!! Bear lumbered off unconcerned with me. The second, I passed alongside and the bear didn't even acknowledge me. Black bears tho. Not sure how I would feel about it after dark tho!! Sounds like a great hike! 24F is starting to get chilly!
