For one, I couldn't escape the feeling that I was a slave to the algorithm and struggled to moderate my time spent there.
Beyond that, I often found myself disappointed when I came to nostr and felt there was a lack of posts I cared to read and interact with. I decided to be a part of the solution to my own problem, and dedicate more time here.
While I miss some of the macro content that I used Twitter for, I am happy to have such wonderful macro thinkers as Dr. Jeff (npub1k7v…c04l), LynAlden (npub1a2c…w83a), and james (npub1cj9…0efa) posting more significant macro trends and thoughts here on a semi-regular basis.
Ultimately I don't regret my choice. It freed me to a degree from the moderate addiction that Twitter had become for me, allows me the ability to custody my own social persona, and offers me an opportunity to put more of my time towards the form of social content that I wish to see more of in the future.
