Ultra-capitalism only creates a facade of wealth and opportunities which are actually only available to rich and fortunate people, leaving everyone else in poverty. When it comes to socialism being discredited, only *authoritarian* socialism has been discredited in Eastern Europe, North Korea and the PRC. Democratic socialism still not only has a chance but a decent one at working, as in providing everyone with fair living standards and equal opportunities.
