I have not heard of anyone in sweden, being sent home due to AI. On the other hand, I notice every day how companies become less efficient, due to AI.
When it comes to mismanagement of middle mgmt, that is a failure of sr mgmt. And the company will be punished by the market. I agree that instant removal of middle mgmt who does not perform is very important!

That would be less visible to the common man, so if the goal is to increase his cost of living, then I agree! That is much more intelligent, in order to try and hide the increased cost, than taxing plane tickets.

Where did they work? I don't know anyone who had to leave work due to an AI.
I do know _many_ who have become less efficient at work due to AI however!

that none of the above aligns with my view on the subject. Climate change is natural, _but_ for the true believers out there, I think it is rational to make every pount count the most, instead of just throwing it away on symbolic acts.

That's just posturing, since we all know that planes are only a few % of the global total. As Björn Lombborg points out, if we are serious about the environment, we need to do things that cound, _not_ empty posturing, that drives the middle class crazy. That way only leads to populism.
So instead, let's pool our resources and pay for nuclear in countries that still have coal plants. That way, we'll get way less CO2 per dollar, than just making the middle class angry.

What other methods were that? Encryption is basically math and the nature of the universe. I do not really see any way in which that can be circumvented. The only way would be not to attack encryption (which is impossible) but the man who is using encryption (surveillance, cracking his devices, bribing/threatening people close to him etc.).
