Paying attention to the _SCIENCE!!!_ is useful (there's no threat as of yet and little potential. see last link), but this is interesting as an example of desperation as Trump and non-GOPe types implement something of an Anaconda Plan against the Democrats. See ending USAID for and early part of that.
Latest is of course cutting back on "legislative apartheid" as @CynicalPublius likes to put it. The Democrats grossly overreached in Virginia, trying to go 6-5 to 10-1, and are now realizing if the GOP plays the same game they've been doing they're down forty seats in the House of Representatives.
And they were utterly cackhanded in trying that, Virginia is in theory a gold standard against gerrymandering. Maybe they'll replace their supreme court in that state, but in the meanwhile thanks to a timely SCOTUS ruling and Indiana voters sending a bunch of state legislators back home to spend more time with their families, the Republicans are marching forward in a bunch of states.
Another sign, albeit also one that electing a violent nigger to be your AG is a bad idea:

"Ok, so the AG of Virginia, Jay Jones, has filed an emergency appeal to the United States Supreme Court asking them to overrule the Virginia State Supreme Courts ruling, and while he may have sent it through spellcheck this time, he failed to change templates..because this one is still going to the Supreme Court of Virginia. The incompetence is mind blowing. πππ"
