😬 You make a very good point. I loved LA, but not its heatwaves. Portland is cooler, and a bit less expensive overall, so I'm starting to get attached to this place. Less random gunfire, too. I'm in a suburb.
The climate is also changing here. I went to an auto parts store 3-4 years ago (not there anymore) to get chains. The clerks talked about how they hadn't had a good snowy winter since the 70's, except for a bit here and there, so I might not need them. Definitely not 4. Ooookay.
It's starting to remind me of northern California, especially the northern Bay Area. But we have the wrong trees for the climate change, so we'll get fires. 😔
If you think you will someday move north, it might be best to do it sooner rather than later. I suspect many people will get the same urge.
